I stayed home for six years after my daughter was born. I went to work once my daughter started school, these schools require so much parent participation and I refuse to let my daughter be that child whose parents aren't involved.
Since my income isn't the dominant household income I attend more school events than daddy does.

I wish I had the answers but this is a challenge.

in your opinion, is there anything businesses/companies/work places/schools could that might help working parents balance their family and work life?

Go head wit' yo' bad self!

That's great you have a supportive partner - makes the world of difference.

Congratulations and good luck with your schooling.

Congrats girl!

Which school did u decide on?

Thanks moody! I'm at The university of the District of Columbia. I definitely made the right choice, it feels like it could be home.

Do I balance it? NO, its about me only right now. I'm delaying starting a family until it financially makes sense.

Right now I'm trying to get my company off the ground, while i'm currently working full time. Before actually starting my business, my goal was to have a business that would allow me to stay home. The thing is, the goals I have for my company will have me working just as much as working at a day job...if not more.

The good thing is.... My SO is also an entrepreneur so he understands the grind. He's also in no rush to have kids....so it'll probably be in my late 30s before I have them. That gives me enough time to start putting systems in place that I could be the hands on Mom I want to be.
