2/1/2007 --ETA : So we can have this information FOREVER on this forum for newbies..
Quote Indian Hair Industries has TWO companies selling Indian hair. Here is the break down on the differences between the two companies:

Indian Hair Industries:
Carries unprocessed virgin Indian hair. (VIRGIN HAIR IS REMY HAIR -- THIS MEANS ALL OF THEIR HAIR IS REMY HAIR) Because this hair is virgin hair, it has not been colored, and there are no color options. The hair will come in natural shades of brown. As most Indian hair has a natural wave to it, the single drawn straight hair can be flat ironed straight or airdried and worn in it's natural wave pattern. (my personal favorite way to style Indian hair)

The minimum purchase quantity is 1 pound (4 packs of hair). However the actual weight of each pack is 3.5 - 4.1 oz in weight, and the shipping is a flat rate of $40 no matter how much hair you purchase. The shipping is high because they send ALL packages out via UPS international express shipping. According to the forum skuttlebutt, there is very little difference between the single drawn straight and the curly hair. Apparently the curly hair they sell is only SLIGHTLY curly and looks more like a deep wave than a tight curly pattern.

The hand tied and machine wefts are well constructed and can be reused through multiple installs. The hand tied wefts are actually in my opinon micro-machine wefts which can be cut without needing to be sealed.

RK Hair Products:
Indian Hair's sister company is RK Hair Products. RK also sells Indian hair. However RK's hair has been processed for color and/or texture. (THEIR REMY HAIR HAS BEEN PROCESSED FOR COLOR ONLY.. ALL NON REMY TEXTURES ARE PROCESSED FOR COLOR AND TEXTURE) This means that you can order the hair in specific colors.

The minimum purchase quantity says 8 oz (2 packs of hair). However the actual weight of each pack is 3.5 - 4.1 oz in weight, and the shipping is a flat rate of $40 no matter how much hair you purchase. Again, the shipping is high because they send ALL packages out via UPS international express shipping. (You can combine orders of both RK and Indian Hairs and pay only ONE $40 shipping fee)

The single drawn straight hair I purchased from RK gets a nice lazy wave to it when washed and allowed to air dry. Unlike Indian Hairs, not all of RK's hair is remy hair. The only REMY hair RK sells their single drawn straight hair. All other curl patterns/textures are non-remy hair. RK attempts to make it easy for you to distinguish this by including the word REMY in the product descriptions of all their remy hair. I confirmed this with Mr Vanka of Indian Hair Industries. You can assume that if the description does not contain the word "Remy" that it is NOT remy hair.

The hand tied and machine wefts are well constructed and can be reused through multiple installs. The hand tied wefts are actually in my opinon micro-machine wefts which can be cut without needing to be sealed.

Well why shouldn't she be as addicted to buying hair as the rest of ya'll..

ETA: Despite rumours lies told to the contrary, I don't own a hair business -- nor do I have ANY interest in owning one.. This is merely a list of companies  I have either shopped with or know are reputable based on feedback from trusted BHM members.

Just a heads up ladies a really easy way to make the link not clickable is to take out the Http and to put () around the www.  as in:

(www)blackhairmedia.com

Also if your post was/is hidden -- it means that yes it didn't cooperate with the forum rules in some way.

My natural hair is a match for a lot of #4s, but with the EP a #3 is a perfect match.

Has anyone ordered from Nature Girl? If so how was your experience? I am thinking of ordering their Brazilian Curl 3B as it seems close to the natural curl of my hair.

Just making sure...

"The minimum purchase quantity is 1 pound (4 packs of hair). However the actual weight of each pack is 3.5 - 4.1 oz in weight"

Okay so basically 1 pound of hair should be enough to do a full sew-in then?

I just need to know before I order.

1 pound is enough to do at least 2 installs (@ 8 ounces per install, you can use more or less depending on the thickness you like, size of head, method of install). Since the hair is re-usable, you can get alot more wear out of it.

I have ordered from the following companies and was satisfied with the hair.

Sultryhair.com
naturegirl.net
Bohyme hair (can be purchased online or at a bss)

Hope that helps!

Hi, everyone
I'm thinking about ordering hair from Adorable or HisandHer Hair. I would like to know which company has better quality hair? I recently ordered hair from Halleys Curls but I'm not pleased with the hair at all. It tangles so much I don't know what to do with it. I ordered the wavy hair and had it pulled straight because it's so difficult to deal with. Can someone please tell me what's the best hair out there? Thank You.Thumbs%20Down

Nerra75,

I have used the His and Hers and it tangles like you would not believe. I had the Saharan straight. I was constantly combing it out during the day becasue it swelled so badly. It curled well, but the tangling was just too much.  I am wearing a His and Hers closure piece and I don't like it very much. It was very bulky coming out of the box. I got my hair styled this weekend and after washing and conditioning, the closure is not very soft and manageabe.

I am wearing Goddess hair right now. I got it from the BBS. I belive its by Sensationnale. It's in a gold pack with red lettering. I like this hair alot! No tangling and minimal sheddinng.

I recently ordered a closure from Remy Hair Today. I will let you know how it looks and performs when I get it.  Won't be for a couple of weeks.

I have.  My first and only Indian hair purchase.  The customer service was good, they were receptive, sent me pictures of the hair bec' I wanted a normal brown than dark brown color (I didn't get what was shown in the picture but that was fine bec' it's virgin hair)  the hair I got was beautiful.  However, the first day I had it installed, I wore it out. It got so tangled, balled and poofed. I thought it was the humidity with all the dancing, etc.   Next day the same thing, I finally wrote to them, they suggested several products.  The products worked a little. I gave up. I had spend so much money for the hair, close to $200 (I got a discount) plus the installed.  I just wore my hair in a ponytail and when I let it out, I walked around with a brush. LOL When the hair is brushed it looks very nice and natural.  But the balling up is a pain in the neck.  If you go to you go to an event be ready to for stares bec' it will ball up.  I've learned not to put a lot of products on my hair.  Washing it is a bit of a chore, make sure that you braid your hair very tightly bec' GURL....... I barely got a second install.  It does not shed.  My lesson from this saga is to go with what the majority of experience weave-wearer recommend.

Yes, I have made several purchases from adorable hair.  The deep wave, afro, and curly.  The product can be custom-blended.  Prices are high, and I don't believe that the quality is as good as indian remy hair in terms of the naturalness for black hair and maintenance.

Wags will let you send the hair back in, there customer service is excellent but if you have tampered with the hair in any way as far as dying the wefts or you have already installed the wefts then they probably will not take it back. Alot of girls on this site have returned there hair to wags with no problem especially a little while ago when the wefts were messed up. Remember with human hair there is always a hit or a miss, that's with wefts, bulk hair or lace wigs, so you have to be prepared to take a miss sometimes.

My lesson from this saga is to go with what the majority of experience weave-wearer recommend.
i agrree but i was lucky enough to not install the hair i always wash, flat iron andplay with my hair before i install it to try to determine what the hair will do.. im trying to debate if im goin to install this hair still. and on top of that she wouldnt answer emails. i may put it on the top and layer it so i dont have the damn birds nest goin on  so i wouldnt particularly say go with the  majority but i would say dont go with them....

What was wrong with the wefts? I purchased wags prior to your posting very pretty hair but it sheds really really bad and i did the sealing thing... did they fix the shedding problem on the virgin wefted hair? if not i wouldnt say they are worth it and i would not recommend them... when you pay like $400 for hair i would think you would want it to stay on the track...

I checked out their site and IMHO they are high in price...Shocked Their 10' Viring Indian hair is $115 for 4oz . I don't think so and the lace wigs are wayyy too much. I can go order my own from a CV and keep the extra 100-200 dollars in my pocket.

I would need some reviews and even then they are getting the side eye from me. Oh and they are about crazed with their closure too.Thumbs%20Down

I wish they had a smily for rolling eyes cause they would get it!

Help!!! I am new to the site and was referred by an employee of Extensions Plus.  I used the relaxed texture, but found that it gets puffy when I sweat or when it's humid, like my hair (didn't really intend to BUY something that acts like my hair - truly african american texture, not an ounce of Indian - LOL!)  A good friend suggested the EP zigzag curly mixed with wavy but EP has next to NOTHING in their inventory.

Does anyone have any other suggestions.  I need something ASAP that blends well with African American texture (1bish), no tangling, and no mass shedding.!!!!!

Hey!

I'm new here and i need help. I had a weave done and i used some hair called Yaki Premium now. It was 16 inch, brown and wavy. Never in my life have i seen something act this crazy. It tangled so badly. I basically had one massive dread on my head, and i had to remove the weave within a week. I was looking rough!

So,can someone please tell what i'm doing wrong, or if it just is realy bad weave I purchased.
Also, if anyone can recomenned a different weave I should try feel free:)

I would realy apriciate the advice.

No but I think Missy has tried the curls and she seems to love it.
So I'll assume the straight would be just as good too.

LMAO I love it when people who are spamming and self promoting aren't smart enough to choose a screen name that isn't so obvious.

I started using Connections a couple months ago, i love thr quality and prices.....thr wavy hair is what i like the most, i wear it like straight or curly. I used to go with perfect locks cause i liked thr curly hair..but it's processed and i don't like that. So then i switched to laniks...and it's good hair, but connections hair is the same and they are much lower on thr prices and have free shipping!!! which is what i like the most lol

I've heard good things about that bobbi boos indiremi...but its so pricey that I can get some virgin indian hair.

some people swore off halley's curls because of it poor customer service. Others still take a chance and buy the hair...especially the closures.

IMO, any site you order from u are taking a risk, some higher than others.

I still might purchase some halley's myself

I bought some Brazilian Wavy Hair from here. She has some beautiful looking hair and she's very responsive. Her price's are negotiable I paid a little less than what she was asking for. (and she is not me if you're wondering, lol)

Also, the usual...Wagman's, and ih.com
