How to go from small curls to big curls?

I just chopped off six inches of straight hair so I can transition to curls.

My natural hair has small curls that get a lot of volume. Kinda like the girl in the 1st pic, but it can easily get big like the one in the 2nd pic.

I want my hair with big, larger curls like this:

or these

*not sure if I should have posted on TTT instead...

would a curl former help? i was looking for pics of curly hair, saw the still of this woman's video below, and she used a curl former, but we don't have the same hair type. I think her hair is 4A.

well, i still haven't figured out, but anyways i don't want to use heat on my hair often to get results. i need to figure a hair regimen so my hair won't be voluminous and frizzy

Well, I cut my hair and now I have my curls back! Not sure what's my hair type. There are different pictures for curls, so I am guessing 3B? Anyways, I am not tripping about getting the big curls anymore. My hair is very short right now, I cut it into a bob, and I am using Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam.

I am using deep conditioning my hair. My goal is once a week.
