My mom had a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy done in one long sitting, and all went well.

Best wishes to you!

You'll be fine. I had it done a few months back. Think of the freedom you'll experience once you heal. No more bloody curse. Ever.

Thank You Ladies!!!
The liquid works alot better and that taste was just too nasty to start all over again...they grew bigger with a vengeance after stopping though.

good luck

you'll be fine

nearly every woman in my family has gotten them done...if you have a choice, i would have everything removed

sometimes they leave an ovary so you can continue to get hormones

I kept my ovaries. I didn't want to go into menopause right away. I guess it's a choice you make. Some people would rather remove them to eliminate any risk of cancer...

This might be in my future. Mine grew during pregnancy and show no signs of shrinking. We're going to discuss options at my 6 month checkup. Right now my uterus is the size of a 4 month pregnancy. ..sigh..

The thing is I had a csection with the twins and after that I don't want another abdominal surgery, ever

Try to get some rest and relax your mind. Don't want your BP too high for the surgery and they have to reschedule. Sending healing thoughts.

Speedy recovery.

You'll be fine. Are you having it done through the vagina or surgery? My friend had one at 39 due to the same issue yourehaving and she has not one regret. she was on the phone with me while she was sedated and waiting on the doctor. She said it went great and she is happy she did it (non-surgical). She hasnt any issues and was ready for work within days, but doc made her take 2 weeks off, even though she felt she didnt need that long.

Thank Y'all so much for all the Love and Well wishes To each and Every one of You.
I'm Ok, Thank GOD! The surgery went well...they removed over 4pounds of Fibroids and I was able to keep my cervix and ovaries....
They went in the abdomen, the bottom of the belly button down to va jay jay incision.
They couldn't do the epidural, so for pain they put a partial Fentanal patch on and Dilauded drip....that some good stuff
The Dr just left, She was so Cool she took her time and explained everything she did...
Thanks Again Y'all, You have no idea how Touched I am

My sister requested a photograph of their fibroids (they were monstrously big) I don't understand for the life of me why people want to see that stuff.

Glad it went well, BWOM! It changes your life for the better to not have to bleed your guts out every month. You'll see !

I had mine in 05. Vaginally, for adeno carcinoma in situ of the cervix.

No pain afterwards, no bleeding ,no discharge of any type, went to the mall and walked around the day I got out of the hospital.

The anesthesia/pain killers did make me constipated. (common side affect). I didn't have any post surgical pain, but I asked for it as a precaution, because I didn't want the pain to kick in later.

If it wasn't for the cessation of periods, I would've thought that they didn't do the surgery, with the exception on what follows.

The only things that did change:

More frequent urination. The bladder doesn't have the support of the uterus to "lean against", so you have to be careful of UTIs as well.

I have some abdominal adhesions. If I get an upset stomach, I get the most incredibly painful, cramps in my intestines, it literally stops me in my tracks. Not to be crude, but it causes rectal spasms as well. It literally feels like I can feel my stool moving thru my intestines and that my stool is full of shards of glass.

Doesn't happen often, but it's momentarily crippling.

Have a Blessed and speedy recovery!
