I never thought I'd be the one to be a victim is a bad weave. I worn weave since I was 9th grade, I went from bbs  hair  to ordering virgin hair. I recently started getting sewin but I had yet to find the stylist that was for me. Being a broke college student, I can't afford to splurge 130-200$ on a sew in. I won a small jackpot at the casino and I decided to pamper myself with some virgin Brazilian hair. I ordered from aliexpress (Mocha hair company), now Im not sure how "virgin" or how "Brazilian" it is but this hair has been giving me life since I bought it back February. (went through bleaching..and I see a possible jet black hair dye in my near future).

A cousin told me about a kitchen beautician that she suggested a try out. Now, I haven't been to a kitchen beautician since I was 14 and I saw in a roach in same sink I was getting my hair washed. Anyway, the lady actually had her license but she had no I figure how bad can it be and it was cheap!!

1st install with a lace closure, fabulous except for fact that the braids didn't hold up very long and I had Chinese eyes for about three days. However, the closure was flush against my skin and you could see anything. . I had chicks eyeballing me, asking where I got "that white girl" hair from and "who did dat"

now for second install, I was excited. I just knew I was going to look fabulous when she did it. How wrong could I be.

first thing I noticed was she didn't use all the hair (i reused the same hair from the first install), I like my weave to be thick and full. It was minor thing that could easily be fixxed so I didnt press it.

it was looking good until she got to the closure. oh lawd..the closure...she slapped that thing on about two inches behind my damn hairline, it was practically in the middle of my head. You can plain as day see the braids that the closure was attached to.  It took me a seconds to realize that after she left.

I need to take better pictures, but I hope you can see the mess that I have sitting on my  head. In one  was literally pointing to where the closure was applied you could see the braids

Needless to say, I called her up and asked her to come back and fix this mess.

OMG !! Please take that down or find someone that can . You are going to loose your hairline . Always make sure you are in front of a mirror .
I am so sorry that greedy woman messed up your hair . I think you made a mistake by allowing her to do anything if you saw roaches to be honest . I understand broke college students . Maybe a bhm stylist can help you in the same state . Check current topics .

I am really busy at the moment , but I will check my stash to help you if possible . SMH .

It was different kitchen beautician who house i saw roaches in the sink, so I havent been to one since.  BUt I heard good things about her and ive seen her work, and the first install she did was flawless, so naturally I figured the second install would be too.

Im in the process of loosening up my edges, where it is a killer.  She said she would give me all my money back (the price of my sew in magically jumped 20$) and she would take down the install herself and redo my entire head however Im not even sure if I want her hands to touch my head anymore.

Last night I fully dissected this atrocity on my head,  so many skipped rows, I was beginning to wonder why the hell was this hair so thin and why she didn't use all the hair in the first place likeshe had done with the last install. She used two bundles (I order three bundles, and normally she used the entire 18 inch, 16 inch and about half of the 14inch) I have a big head, two bundles is not going to cover my head and look good.

more pictures coming soon...

im going to take down the install myself

Awh man what a disaster. You should do more research to locate a better stylist. Check out What kind of hair is that and where did you purchase it? I'm researching hair vendors.

Watch Youtube and do your own install , its enough videos on it to show you how. If you cant braid then find a local braider on CL if you have to and then sew in your own wefts.

You need to take that hair down NOW if you still want edges.

update, ths horrible install is still in, Im been rocking cute head bands. The woman who did my hair has been promising me she will refund all of my money and redo my entire head the "right" way. However she has been dodging me, not texting or returning phone calls so I finally told her I was coming to her because I sick of her having excuses and so the moment I get into town to meet her, she is just so happens to be out of town.

OP take that sew in out! She is giving you the run around. I kept a bad install in before hoping it would loosen up and my hair is still damaged in the crown area and edge area smh at myself. I have looked on YouTube for tutorials on diy wigs with closures, while nursing my hair back to its original healthy state

The tightness went away after a two days of me gradually pulling out my edges, and dabbing argan and coconut oil and a wash (my hair felt dirty and I knew that a good wash would ultimately relieve my tightness), however now It looks like my had this sew in for atleast two months and it only been a couple of weeks.  The braids didn't even make it two weeks

she claimed that reason she placed the closure and the tracks so far back was to relieve tension off my edges so I wouldn't go bald...,of course she didn't explain this to me as she was doing my hair....i feel if she was that concern for my edges she could have opted to leave my edges out to where I could have blended my edges with the hair overall go for a more natural look.

can you guys believe that after all of this trouble she has put me through, she still expected me to recommend her to all my friends and family. Helll naw!

I don't have very many pictures from the first install. I will just add the links because I don't know how to upload pictures on here

here is one from the back

excuse my big forehead, I was trying to show the closure

final update.

for a cool minute, she talked a big talk about "this never happens" "I'm sorry" "you know I can do good hair" and promised me the hassle of taking down this sew in herself , washing my hair, reinstalling it for free giving single cent of my money back

Yesterday, I waited 7 hours for her to text me back, by then it was starting to get a little late (7pm)and  she said she didnt have her car at the moment to come to house and do my hair, so I offered to pick her up and take her home when she was finished, then she ignored my offer and told me she will do it at 9am, as she said "I got you fr fr"

I woke up early, in a good mood i thinking, Im about to finally get my hair redone the right way, my money back and I would never have to deal with her again. 9am came and went, I waited until 9:20 to text her to see if she was awake, i get no reply.

so I was until about 10, to ask if she was still coming over. no reply. so i finally start calling, my calls rang once and  went straight to voicemails. I figured she blocked me  and I let her know that I didn't want her to do my hair anymore , i just wanted my damn money back like she had been promising for days now. (i know im so gullible, but once again I am a broke college student and every little dime matters)

Im temped to post every single one my hair disaster pictures on facebook, which is where she gets most of her customers.

You are very patient OP. If someone ignored you once about your complaint...what made u think she would be willing to fix it. She already took your money.

Date Posted: Sep 03 2014 at 8:50am should definitely post those pics on Facebook. No malice involved like a catty girl so it doesn't start drama. But just informing people who want to inquire about her services. That is so wrong and unprofessional. Not acceptable.

Quality matters a lot and Please you shouldn't comprise with quality of this kind of products. Its not always the extension that causes the hair loss, something the way it is done and technique used can also be reason. As per my experience I would recommend you to use 100% human hair weave from trusted brand and Get it done by professional experts.

It looks to me like you can just loosen that braid in the front, flat iron it and leave it as leave out in the front. It doesn't look bad at all except one braid uncovered in the front.

Everyone who says they can weave cannot weave!!!   I have been in TX for a minute now and I CANNOT find a person who can sew in a good weave and make it look natural.  Either they don’t know how to braid or if they can braid, they can’t sew the tracks down so they don’t come apart.  Blending is out of the questions; there is an art of having your weave install.  Pretty much like putting together and sewing a quilt!!  You have to be creative due to every women don’t have the same size head, long hair to cover the tracks naturally.  If you do find someone who you think you might like, talk to women who have been going to that stylist for a why that have had weaves installed.   Look for signs of their hair not been taken out on the side, and especially with closures.  A good stylist will know how much pressure to put on the front and the sides of your head, because that where a lot of our weak points are at.  Don’t be in a hurry just take your time, in turn you will have healthy hair in the end!!!

I always tell those tight on cash with little experience doing their own hair to just get a closure wig made and self install. Its much more economical than being dependant on others.
