No, considering the fact that they were copies of the Jackson 5. That would make them second.

new edition>>>jackson 5 IMHO. of course michael jackson is the greatest of all time but as a group, i gotta go with new edition. they also gave us bobby brown, bell biv devoe, johnny gill and ralph tresvant.

was anybody checking for the jackson 5 after mike left??

quick, name all the members of the jackson 5

tito and jermaine were in their 20's(no longer 'boys') being carried by 10 year old mike

Of their time yes.  They cover all aspects of R&B and Hip Hop.  Basically they are the one group that represents Hip Hop as opposed to actual Rap IMO.

But my first thought (all time) was: http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&docid=wCaAfgRfyaOMpM&tbnid=z1vvHkl47b6FgM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thethirdcity.org%2Fblog%2Fbenny-jay%2Funcategorized%2Fbenny-jay-earth-wind-fire-live%2F&ei=n5GxU6iYAcmpyAT4poHwDA&bvm=bv.69837884,d.aWw&psig=AFQjCNG2g5jLsVDKF51HTQlqepA5pt4tcg&ust=1404232474197151" rel="nofollow">

Maybe because they were part of an actual bandGeek

But boy band is what they were called LOL

good point kfox.  but the jacksons actually played their own instruments.  mike was the only one who didn't, i believe.  and maybe randy...but he came along later of course...

Naw, n sync had more white soul... I mean the hit list speaks for itself.

I did love immature.  The first day I met my best friend, 4th or 5th grade she told me that Bat man and LDB were her and her cousins boyfriends and they had picked them up in a limo to go to their concert.  I later learned that this girl was a very very skilled liar and manipulator.  She kept that lie going for at least 2 yrs, to the point that against all my senses I believed her.

Not the Jackson Five silly.   They were definitely a band.   Even when they started wearing sequinsLOL

I was talking about all the groups that were later called "Boy Band".

ETA: Oh I'm lateLOL

BSB hit list is longer. Phuck 'white soul', pretend to be black, and wearing braids, featuring rappers on your album to give it credibility sh*t. Give me that corny white boy love ballad.

Hell yes y'all.  Parliment/Funkadelic.

I love those Unsung Episodes where its a band and not just a person.  Although the one on Bootsie was excellent because he played with James Brown and was generally a talented ass dude.

I don't believe that all the successes of White artists should be attributed to how "great" and/or talented they really were/are seeing that they would be half as successful if they were Black

White supremacy and global whitewashing counts for some of those numbers
