Don't know about the 'perfect' white shirt, but you can find one just about anywhere.
Price will depend on the maker, fabric, and place of purchase.
They can be worn tucked into a pair of jeans for a casual look, also with a jacket, or worn with a suit. Over a dress knotted at the waist, with skirts.
It depends on the occasion.

Hope you find the right for you

Maybe you can describe for us what you consider to be the perfect shirt.

What is the occasion

Keep in mind, not everyone can agree on what's perfect.

what Benni said.  what exactly are you looking for?  For me a perfect white shirt in general is a tailored button down.  It can be dressed up or not.

Im still on the search for one that fits my frame perfectly. I have a short torso.

I cheat by pairing my white shirt with a brightly colored pastel tank top and I leave the shirt open with the sleeves rolled up.

Girl..

Why on earth are you asking for something as subjective as perfection..?

I've been looking for that shirt for years. A crisp one with a big collar and big cuffs. I have this picture in my mind, from a shirt I saw in a magazine years ago but that I couldn't afford. It remains elusive.

I've yet to find a button down that will cooperate with my boobs.  Always some pinning and manipulation involved.

I have an emerald green button down shirt on OP.  I got it from Old Navy.  Aside from pinning the front for added protection, it's perfect.  The sleeves roll/button up or can be worn down.  I'm sure Old Navy sells in white too.

The four c's to consider

Cut

Cloth ..

Cuff

Collar

Depending o your budget you can get one made or you can buy off the rack from places that specialise in suits and stuff

But once you find the right shirt you don't go back..

They customize the fit, length, collars, cuffs

Perfect would be the material and how it fits right, well this is close to bespoke at a more affordable price

Or you could find a tailor that'll customize one for you but that's either trial and error or more expensive for a tried and true tailor

I'd start with something like this and work your way up (if you're looking for perfect)

Vince (vince.com) is my go to for shirts/blouses/sweaters. But they are definitely a buy-it-for-life, high maintenance type items.

People also swear by Everlane for their button downs and t-shirts, and they are way more affordable.

I have a lot of their blouses. Oh along with Equipment. They make cute tops. You can often find them at Marshall's and TJMaxx

np BFD actually put me on to them. I agree with Brooks Brothers too.  Eddie Bauer also has nice shirts

I have soooo many Jones New York blazers, it's like my uniform

My friend who wear lots of button up white blouses always wears Jones New York...

I can't personally vouch because I stay away from button ups like the plague. I hate having to pin gaps in my shirts..

I'd be willing to pay at this point. I have this very clear mental image of what I want and I've been searching ever since. It's one of those indispensable items too. Like the little black dress.
