Got damn that is one sure way to piss me off. I don't understand how anyone even thinks that this is remotely okay.

Just curious, why not just throw the food in a garbage bin/plastic bag?

I've didn't know people flushed good down the toilet. I don't even want my dishes entering the bathroom. I learn something new everyday on BHM. What's their reasoning for flushing it?

Yepp, liquidy leftovers from plates, old grease, or when I am cleaning out my fridge.  I didn't realize I had no garbage disposal when I signed the lease, and I don't want old food rotting in my trashcan...

I don't see when it's and issue, it's not like I sit plates on the toilet seat... and they are on their way to be washed anyway...

I take my trash out almost daily...I don't keep trash/leftover food in my home but i would never flush it down the toilet either. Maybe because i would never bring food to the bathroom . I would still rather the idea of putting it in a small plastic bag (grocery bag) and run it out to the trash can.

there is a small trashcan in my room and bathroom for dry things like paper, and whatnot but i take my kitchen trash out daily on the way out in the mornings.

I wouldn't bring food I was going to eat... but at that point, its garbage...

I flush my left over food down the toilet. Mainly because it's usally too much to put down the garbage disposal, and I would hate for it to go in my trash.

I don't use my garbage disposal I just throw it in the trash and take out my trash every other day...we have a trash compactor so I don't have to wait until trash day

you can't do that for some septic systems you'll cause a very expensive problem

Builders put in a weak garbage disposal like a half horsepower ... upgrading to higher horsepower is very inexpensive if you're handy

I'm saying. You work hard to maintain your home and pay your mortgage. Last thing you need is an unexpected plumber's bill. Never knew people would even think to do this.

I don't use my garbage disposal either... i just put the food inside a walmart bag and tie it up and then put it in the trash.

I didn't know people really did that

I guess it makes sense for cereal instead of trying to strain it in the sink through your fingers

My bathroom is only two steps away from my bedroom so it's closer than the kitchen....which is soooooo far away at night lol

This is probably a silly question but, would food cause that much of an issue? It decomposes easily...

Posted By: StylingArabella
Date Posted: Jun 21 2014 at 2:33pm
Poop and vomit is food. I never thought to do that, but what is the issue with it? Is it the amount of food? The size of the food? Does it cause problems with the septic tank? If someone put the food in the blender then put it in the toilet would that be a problem? I'm confused....by the question and the action LOL.
