Doesn't have much offer you financially. She is not on your level financially yet? Should women still date if they do not have their stuff together yet?

1. There are but five guys here

2. Do you want to be a provider? Even if that's what they're looking for, is that what you want to be?

By levels are you talking about survival? Self-sufficiency? Or ability to vacation, invest, go dutch on a house, what?

It depends on what type of man you tryna date. You can't demand something you don't have. If you get lucky and find it that's great but you can't demand it.

Always look for potential. The person may not be there yet however as long as they possess the potential to arrive.

Is she purely broke? If so than no and if she having financial problems but fixing it than yes we can go together. But I cannot be with someone who does not work or continues making horrible choices.

she asked if she wasn't able to OFFER you anything financially and if she didn't make as much as you

Do the BHM men want their SO to make the same or more than him?   I doubt that's a prerequisite.

But I don't know what's she means by stuff together.  That bar could be low or high

Ramen?
Steak?
A kitchen to cook it in?
Own house with a great kitchen?
Vacation house?
And up

No idea.

Um, if we are married both of our finances go in half. Either way if we divorce she is gonna get the house due to law so may as well loose all my money.

I almost made that thread last week but I remembered there's not that many guys here lol. But I wonder how many would like  a relationship like that. I know a few who are thriving , but based on what I read  it doesn't seem realistic.

No don't be silly she will have a salary job that gives her 6 weeks after pregnancy. Hopefully I'll have a good side business and she can work on brinong more income. I don't really want kids so that's up to her if she want them.

Since wouldn't mind a woman who made more but don't let her get her head all up high in the air. I'll still carry my end as well.

Sh!t done changed. It takes two incomes nowadays to be able to do what one could back in the day. It's unrealistic to think a someone can sit back and ride it out while the other is out grinding.

well if bhm men feel more comfortable with a woman making more than him

to ensure that she won't have to depend on you (due to children etc)

Then tell us something

with money comes power so let us know if you're also down for that shift or you prefer her earn but remain traditional

most would help with the mortgage in some way

Children cost women earning potential and time and so if a husband can weather the mortgage singlehandedly and the wife can supplement add to it as a bonus ... there's more flexibility

We just had the sahm convo and it's benefit to kids etc

Hard to have it both ways, have a mother contribute exactly half the income but stay home long enough to breastfeed and to at least nurture the kids to school age

Posted By: rickysrose

ahh brute force

hmm ok, let's see how that works out

Posted By: petiteone29

LOLY'all make things so complicated sometimes. Things change in relationships. Situations change, incomes change depending on what you are working towards sometimes. You might start out making less but after getting your dream career you might make twice as much as your spouse/girl/guy. I don't think it matters who is paying what bills as long as no one feels taken advantage of and as long as everybody is happy and it works for y'all. Sometimes there is too much emphasis on the "male vs female roles" In this day and time you do what works for your family/situation and always strive for better.

of course that's true petit ... that's what's worked for me

Works great when both people share that give and take mindset

We're playing devil's advocate in here what with all the sahm, 90 money fast threads lately.

So many want to sahm or don't approve of working moms, can't sah and pay half the mortgage

well if the non financial contributor persons credit sucks then ok...lol

but like you said there are still ways to ensure that the non financial contributor person still has ownership interest in the house...

Posted By: ThoughtCouture

afro also over here homes  inherited CANNOT be taken from the person who assumes ownership through inheritance unless of course foreclosed upon for non payment.  and even then, the bank must go through the entire process of foreclosure/evictions as if the person who inherited the home was the original owner.

you can do that here.  but technically the bank can call the entire loan if there are any changes to the ownership status...they typically don't tho...especially if they are getting their money every month....

Looks ain't enough to make a dude lace you up. There are too many pretty broke chicks with used up vaginas roaming around to support that notion.

Now I have seen some not so beautiful chicks move on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky because they relied on more than their looks and coochie.
