I dont mean just accepting that there are gay people, but more so the popularizing through media at the levels its at today

I dont hate homosexuals, but i do see practicing it as a sin the same way fornication and adultery is a sin. I would say condoning it is opening a door that should be kept shut

Maybe it's just me but PDA bothers me with certain people. And yes it is hurting somebody, Me, it's hurting me. If one of y'all look likes Ursla and the other is a fugmo, please keep that behind close doors. Straight or Same sex idc. But if y'all look creepy it bothers me.

I agree with you OP. I feel like now, in the name of liberty we have to condon everything otherwise we will be called the bad.
I think they shouldnt show it everywhere like they do. I feel like they ( government and media) are promoting it.

They taking it too far. There was just a case where some gay guy sued Nintendo I think because he couldn't marry another guy in some video game. Luckily, Nintendo won I believe. It becomes a problem when they start nitpicking at everything because they see people are finally accepting homosexuality. Its like "ok let me see what else I can get going".

They didn't sue. GLAAD wrote them and said they were disappointed that they didn't allow it to be an option. Other people started a campaign to get them to change it.  The last I heard, Nintendo said they couldn't retroactively make the change to this game, but that they'd do it in the future.

Why don't you just mind your own fvcking business?

For the life of me I can't understand why two consenting adults decision to fornicate, be adulterers, or be homosexual have anything at all to do with you?

And why do you care about the media? If you are so fvcking religious why don't you sit down somewhere and read a bible and sing hymns. You should not be watching anybody's tv or listening to anybody's radio or be on anybody's internet.

Worry about someone else when you get your ish straight. Why don't you start questioning your god about why he is so perfect and yet made some people crippled? When you get an answer for that then come for some homosexuals.

if you view it as a result of the original sin, I guess you would see it in the same category as cripples and disabled and retarded and stuff bc homosexuality has no biological function to further the human race.

I do not however.

It's horrible. I can practically taste the edible glitter that will be on every cupcake. Next thing you know they will petition for size 13 Jimmy Choo heels. And THEN, when we are nice enough to give them that, they will still have the nerve to feel like they are being oppressed. They just never quit do they?!

Ermm

Given some of the comments in this thread, the world could use more media representation of homosexuals. And I hope every time some of you see them on tv, your insides burn a little.

Every adult is welcome to make his/her own choice and that choice should be respected.
Just don't teach your choices to my kids.

It amazes me that prayer is not allowed in school however gay teachings are??
I'm not with that at all.

Religion is a choice taught to children. How do schools teach kids to be gay? If you want your child to have religion taught to them, they have private schools for that.

not sure what you mean by this because theology is taught in schools, the forced practice of it on students isn't allowed...social equality may be taught in schools, sucking each others dcks in the locker room still isn't allowed.  and tbh, teaching social studies, it's a shame that everyones magical beliefs have to included in a curriculum, imo, but it's important for children to learn to accept other forms of religion as a freedom and of course, it also shaped history, so its impossible to ignore...just like it's important to teach that a different lifestyle is not a license for discrimination, which is not giving kids a manual on how to be gay. Ermm

I don't agree that gay sensitivity should be taught to grade schoolers.
Part of many sex-ed courses now include "gay sensitivity"

So i did a seach because Ive never heard of such. I do know that safer sex covers both hetro and homo sexual contact.

This is all i was able to find regarding gay sensitivity being taught in schools :

"Sensitivity means that sexual orientation is a minority status like race and gender and
that schools which train teachers must demonstrate their sensitivity to it in regard to
things like suicide prevention, namecalling and so on," said Karen Harbeck, of the
National Institute for Lesbian, Gay and Transgender Concerns in Education,
Incorporated. "Sensitivity means schools have to offer programs in being sensitive to
gay and lesbian concerns."

And i dont what the problem is with that.

Your faith is not my concerns so your faith shouldnt be used to dictate whats taught in public schools.

So your faith isn't my concern...but someone else's sexuality is yours?

are you planning to teach them about the NEED to be sensitive???

lets face it...most kids have some experience with this subject matter during if not prior to grade school.  hell I grew up in the 70's before this was so called pc and I know at least 3 boys that all the other kids suspected to be "sweet" in the pants ALL of which grew up to be just what we had expected (harder to tell for girls back then...hmmm...I guess...but now that i think about it there were a few "ambiguous" acting girls as well).   and yes these boys were mos def teased.

but if your kids are super sheltered and have no concept of what gay is and that they NEED to leave people alone about it AND you would like to keep it that way then you can always send your kids to a private school.  or you can home school.

Of course we don't want to teach kids to be sensitive to the gay kids or the special ed kids or the disabled kids or the poor kids or the foster kids or the kids with medical problems. Being sensitive to others differences and acting accordingly just ain't right.

If some people redirected their energy from worrying about what other folks do in their bedrooms to issues like poverty and education we'd be able to accomplish a whole lot.

NAACP does a lot of sh*t actually. Don't focus on their missteps. get involved. It's hard to fight for Black rights when so many black people question the need for a race based group/advocacy in this age of "color blindness".  You know...new black sh*t

I'ma be clear that I don't care what other people do but I think BHM be puttin on big time because in real life these same folks would not be this supportive. It's just the cool thing to say on BHM. Or maybe people just aren't as open in real life. I just know this convo wouldn't be going down like this.

@Pity for me, the NAACP doesn't have the impact that GLAAD does. GLAAD shuts sh*t down. I tried joining my local NAACP branch when I was fresh out of the high-school but I was broke and didn't have money for the membership. That really turned me off because I wanted to get involved and help. I didn't understand how it worked back then. Over the years I volunteered for many organizations but my biggest contribution to activism came when I created my own. I've said this before, the "new Blacks" is new term for uncle toms and I can't stand to be around people like that.

Sorry for derailing the thread. We all sin, I don't care what anyone does on their beds or in public. If one of my children is gay when they grow up, I'll support them. I'm all for happiness.

How many people on here would say the things they say about white people in public? And I swear black feminism is almost entirely an online movement.

*raises hand*  I usually don't have issues with the white people I deal with on an individual basis, but when I do, they're the liberal sort and we have productive conversations.  They're the kind of people who say "Sorry, I need to check my privilege" though.
