What are the types of English accents are there? Idris Elba's I don't like but I don't like his American (fake) accent either! its so weird! sounds like a movie gangster from the 50's!! Dick Tracey!

I know something like cockney or brimey or something like that?

You don't need to fake an accent to get into this country.

I was just sitting here watching Obsessed and noticed how bad Idris's american accent was and I was wondering how it would be the other way around~ so I wanted the people with English accents to give me tips! but I'm only concerned with a particular type of English accent and I don't know the names?

You got way too much time on your hands with these dumbass threads. Are you trolling? I just read your thread in the lacefront sections and my stomach hurts from laughter.

For some (americentric) reason, when I read the thread title, I thought you meant English isn't your first language and you want help sounding like us.

I wonder if any of the non-american posters can sound American.

Sorry, I don't know sh*t about the Brits.

Post your English accent, nature Thumbs Up

Geesh, have you ever BEEN to England? This must be a joke because ... you know ... there are as many 'English accents' (almost) as there are towns/cities/neighborhoods in England! DUH!

So how are you gonna talk about which one you like over alllll the others unless you know all of them?

nature.  maybe u should be more specific in your request.  Depending on what part of England you're from your accent, slang and colloquialisms will vary.  Kinda like how folks from Cali sound different than folks from Texas folks from Minnesota folks from New England etc etc...

well I have not been to England but I know what sounds like and I have heard some English people talk in fact I had this bf that was British-Jamaican from Birmingham and he was trying to explain them to me he actually changed his natural accent to be more "American" because he said it caused him too much grief!! I also watch plenty of BBC and I notice- what I like
