I read the article and also saw the doctors video

http://www.thedoctorstv.com/videolib/init/11166

she had worn these for years and yet didn't have a problem until she used a specific glue ..also says though she saw it was infected kept wearing the wigs for about 5 months until her hairline became discolored..so I agree with you that we as women should be cautious and if you see an infection brewing stop using the products we are applying the wig with and not let it fester for months

she was ignorant to keep wearing something when your skin is infected, and clueless with no skills.. she needs to blame herself and stop using this in an attempt to be relevant or make a come back it won't work. that ship has sailed..bye girl..

I guess it makes sense, her claim, that if you use it continuously for so long something is bound to happen. I don't think her claim is substantiated with medical backing. This is her own personal opinion and instead of blaming the wigs she should switch and blame the glue she used to hold it down. She also probably did not take very good care of her skin under the glue or practiced poor removal of the glue which maY have caused sores, which in turn caused an infection and she still did not give it a rest.

THIS MAY ALSO BE HER WAY BACK INTO THE LIMELIGHT.

These units work fine as long as you use common sense. If she is stupid enough to apply glue to a hairline that is a pulpy mess .. that's on her.

She said she wore the units 24 X7!!

I've been wearing these units successfully going on 6 years. Now and then I have tried something new but if a few days later if I see bumps on my skin then know I cannot wear that product because I am having an allergic reaction .. so I toss it. DUH!

There are s zillion products on the market .. she couldn't try another one?

My hairline is as clear and smooth as it ever was ... simply because I take care of it correctly - I don't wear the units for a month or so - or double up on all sorts of chemicals.

The person she should blame for her dissappearing hairline .. is that fool in the mirror.

And the worse thing is .. she doesn't even look good in her unit. Looks fake.

I wanted to respond to this thread yesterday, but I couldn't log on.

Hundreds of women and men use adhesives for their lace units without incident.  You try one adhesive; it doesn't agree with your body chemistry, you move on.  You don't wait until it's oozing and smells bad to say, "Gee, maybe I should remove this wig."  And to wear it for months without removing it?  What does her natural hair look like?

I recall hearing this story a few years ago about Countess.  Is she trying to get some publicity to wake up her sleeping career?  Countess dear, this is not the way.

From what I watched, it seems like she decided to press on despite that her body wasn't responding well to the adhesive.  When you ignore the symptoms that whatever you using your body doesn't want it, you will be hard pressed to find sympathizer.

Been to Hollywood lately?  If hair is  tainted Kool -Aid..women are addicted to the poison. They wear hair..that doesn't match, doesn't look right...euucchhh!
The pressure is unreal!  I mean "pressure"to be beautiful and flowing day and night is unlike anything I've seen!   It's eerie there..everybody has weave on..I saw ZERO natural hair.  The one place that sells regular old indian hair wefts was standing room only. His N' Hers that used to be  a little joint is now nearly a block long..with a SUPER (not really) HAIR store directly across the street.
The quality and type of ish they sell is horrifying.  Countess does not look healthy at all...and that weave she is wearing now is horrid too...but two things y'all said cannot be denied.  NASTY +STUPID= will give you stank and DIS -EASE

Most regular people do not care what's going on in Hollywerid - this is taking for granted that they have a real life for goodness sakes!

I think if ALL the black females in Hollyweird are so weak-willed that they HAVE to wear weaves/wigs as adversed to wearing their natural hair etc - that would be one pitiful situation. Only the weak respond to such peer pressure. Everyone else would wear their natural hair if they wanted and keep it moving. What are they all 15 years olds with no backbone?

But no one is holding a gun to their heads forcing them to live in that phony world. It's a choice.

But to wear glue again and again over an infected pulpy mess of a hairline .. has nothing to do with this ‘supposed’ pressure.

Again, when she saw her skin was having a reaction ... she could have maintained that same look with regular wigs/used a weave/worn a nice headwrap/gotten a different product and the list goes on.

She could have done a number of things to treat that reaction EARLY before everything went sideways on her. So the ‘pressure of Hollyweird’ is no excuse for not using common sense.

Let’s get real here.

She us trying to be relevant . She saw her reaction to the glue and continued. No one is to be blame but her.

Exactly. It's not like she only had the choice of wearing her natural hair (which I can imagine is an absolute mess) or wearing lace with adhesives. As soon as she noticed a problem, she could've addressed and treated it then, laid off on the adhesive for a few weeks, and just worn glueless units. There are all sorts of options yet she chose to completely ignore the problem and continue putting adhesive on open wounds. That's a different kind of stupid.

Your observations are true Ladies..ITA that her state of denial and resultant woes are her own fault.
I was in LA for 10 days..from Roscoes to Santa Monica and all around..saw zero women with their own hair.   Maybe it's just L.A. no reason to lie or blow things out of proportion.... I had twists..and got stared at...I saw hair that was lime green and burgundy...that matched the outfit and the shoes...while in New York..natural hair was nearly ALL I saw..and "normal" clothes!!  I tell ya' New York felt a whole lot better to a sister!!

did you hear the latest update? about how she is coming out with a "natural hairline" lace wigs collection? i really feel this was done to become relevant.

We have to be aware of the various chemicles and toxins that are in the glue that are used. The chemicals are absorbed into our blood stream. Women today are experiencing thyroid issues whether it is hypo or hyper thyroidism which causes tiredness, hair loss, brittle nails, dry skin, irritability, weight gain or weightless,it causes endocrine problems, constipation, head aches, dizziness it causes tumors, cyst, fibroids ect
We have to be careful for real
I am just learning the dangers of wearing tip nails or acrylic nails...even gel nails...all this stuff is causing cancer and health problems.

Countess needs to find something else to endorse.  Who would trust anything she would say about wigs or lace wigs?  She should find something else to do.

Yeah, why would anyone be stupid enough to listen to a word she says about anything, but especially lace wigs? That's like asking Donald Trump for hairstyle suggestions.

And to her I say, "Girl Bye!" not washing your hair, not drying your hair thoroughly, using something that causes breakouts/infections is a personal hygiene problem. lol. Shes going to have those problems with a weave or braids or with her own natural. Chew glass and get glad dear.

Her edges was already suspect after wearing those tight azz braids for 5 years so she can have several seats. Vanity and stupidity took away your edges, that wig didnt ask to be there.

Edges .. that's another Pet Peeve of mine. Confused

When you SEE your edges are breaking off .. why is it that people continue what they are doing .. when they know that it's making the situation WORSE. Get out of the braids when that first starts ... and do something else. DUH!

I have several acquaintances that have this chewed up sitution going on an inch or so off their faces. They pretend it looks normal and you cannot ask them about it because they get defensive. Ouch It's like they think if they don't speak about it .. it's not happening.

So then I think 'okay then, go bald' and within 3 -4 years .. they are bald on the edges. Then they will get catty and jealous over my LFW.

Hey, I look 'normal' which is better than wearing your own hair ... but being half bald and walking around like it's normal.

Sorry but it's sooo ugly not to have normal edges. Stop that! (slap hands!)

My gf has thinning hair in the crown but insists on getting a middle part, I just sit there and think really. I almost wanna grab a closure from my stash and just slap it on her head, but she also still wears Indiremi from the bss so I leave her at lost cause and live my life.

Weave glue and LFW glue ... are 2 different things.

The article says her cause of death was not confirmed ... but they think there was a 'link' to the hair glue. Duh!

Well, they can also find a 'link' between hair perms and fibroid tumors .. but that does not mean one actually CAUSED the other. In fact ... you can find a 'link' between any two things - just keep digging - she was drinking Red bull and Henessey. :)

More hysteria - because you need PROOF not conjecture.

that is the truth and yet there will be some that will buy her wigs because of her name though she has shown she knows ***nothing*** about the care of lace wigs..will probably be glueless

Countess is some sho'nuff stupid BSS!  You ladies are the best critics on earth!! Hella writers here!!DeadClap   Thinning edges blow me!!  Then again I am ready to throw in the entire towel...Synthies tear my skin up!  where ever the hair lands..I break out!!  Even after repetitive washings.... But am TIRED of poor lace wig quality...
In the BSS recently...two women are getting their lace wigs taped and glued on. by a cashier? ....one them has no edges but is asking tips on how to grow them back...wtf?  So maybe Countess has found a niche...i.e. stupid heffas
