Not for a boy... I keep my son's hair very short.
At the shop the buzz /clippers is a two or three.
I like for him to have a clean conservative look.

That's not right. These women be living their hair dreams through their children. It's especially sad to see when it is a boy. I think they be tryna let it get real real long so they can cut it all off at once and have it wefted. Poor kid.

This.

And I don't think any boy looks good with long hair. Even grown men.

Ok well Snoop Dogg look good with long hair, let's just clear that up okay. But other than that, no.

Her own hair is long, so she is probably not plotting on scalping the boy.

She is treating him like the daughter she must want tho. Even if he wants long hair, she's killing me softly with the blow drying and flat-ironing him to Pocahontas, flowing silkiness.

He does not look thrilled but she does a good job caring for it lol.

The only part I raise a brow at is flat ironing it. He's a kid, his supposed to be playing in the dirt, sweating, getting wet, etc and not worrying about sweating out his press.

he looks as if he was annoyed with being his moms mannequin all day. I don't have an issue with the length of his hair at all. Why did she flat iron it or did she flat iron it? seems like she was doing that more so for show then as it being a necessity.

I think his hair length is only an issue for some because the style its worn. If it were locs i dont believe many would have said she wanted a girl. Its just the whole flatironing process that threw me off.

Unless it's in dreads, I'm not a fan of any male w/long hair once they pass their 1st birthday.

It's usually accompanied w/ pierced ears when it's lil kids. And oversized clothes.

I think he does want it long. She told someone in the comments that she threatens to cut it when he doesn't cooperate on wash days.

Still can't get with that flat ironing tho.

OAN: I couldn't give that Beautiful Textures mess away fast enough. The person I gave it to hated it, then the person they passed it to hated it too. I know everything doesn't work for everybody, but damn.

I'm sure if he keeps it that long, it will attract certain types of girls when he gets older.

But WHAT FOR? He is a boy. How is he going to play with other boys and cut up .. when he has to worry about his hair. He looks about 10 years old ... so certainlt this will come to an end .. unless he's gay. Duh!

What is the point here ... that her child can grow long hair? I think she is living out HER dreams. She probably wanted a girl but got a boy so she plays out her fantasys with HIS hair.

She's got too much time on her hands.

I was about to say what type of shyt is that...LOLLOL lengh check is such a stupid term anyway. Get a tape measure (or not) and pull your hair straight and there you have it. A flat iron does not have to be involved.

I think her obsession with her son's long hair is very dysfunctional.  Its like she's got her own play doll--braiding, blow drying, flat ironing...on a 10 year old boy.  Pathetic.  Trust he is not happy with it.  Why would he be?

I bet there's no man around who would allow his son to go thru all that mess.

There's another member here whose son has really long hair that she's stretched out so BHM can see. As long as you're feeding and clothing them I guess. They're paying their dues. When they make 18 they will finally be free.

That's fine as long as HE actually wants long hair, and you're not forcing him to keep it cuz you want it.

My problem with OP was more so her sitting there blow drying and flat ironing his hair. That's just really unnecessary for a boy.

That lil boy's whole face reads, "I didn't sign up for this sh!t."

Honestly, it looks weird as hell when straight. As long as your boys aren't rocking a middle part, suga, I think it looks fine. I see lots of PR/Dominican/Spanish boys with curly midback length hair in low ponytails. If it was straight and styled, though?! Nah.

both of them has thick arse hair. I asked if they wanted it cut and they both shouted no. So I pay $75 every 2 weeks to have it braided. I'm seriously considering locking it. I couldn't find any YT videos of starter locs on long hair. If I don't take them to the shop I do the 2 strand twist.

Maybe I'm projecting because I'm scared to loc my hair currently but I may do it on my kid just to experience it. The kids don't have a choice. They a re at the mercy of their parents' whims. Could be the same thing. She has relaxed hair but still wants some thick luscious natural hair to play in.

My nephew has mbl and he loves his hair but you would never be able to tell by watching him get it done. I was hurt when my 5 year old told me that he wanted to cute his high-top off b/c it was soooo cute to me but now he's rocking a fade with a part, it's super cute on him and he loves it.
