Hey ladies,

I got some Afro Kinky Curly hair from kinkycurlyyaki.bigcartel.com and I made a full wig out of it. I've had it since August, and I'm noticing it does look at good as it used too. It's starting to look sparse and just... blah

I moisturize daily and DC weekly so I don't think that is the probelm

Do you think its because I split the wefts? I get some non-major shedding each day when I comb it out and brush it with my Denman but nothing major. Perhaps that shedding adds up? Maybe because it is kinky hair?

Anyway, I'm looking to buy some more hair since this didn't work out so well, and I don't want the same to happen again . Hair costs too much to last only a couple months

Did you seal after splitting wefts?

If this is the only wig you wear and you say you wear it everyday then Im thinking that is the issue. Five months straight everyday with no rotation of other wigs might have been the issue even with sealing.

Do you think I should have two next time and rotate?

Put a silicon mix treatment on it.

Yes rotate, I think its just regular wear and tear. Heck even our own hair sheds

our own hair sheds and grows back though..def may be because you split the weft and as we know , sealing won't always prevent it from shedding depending on what u seal with. In most cases when we split wefts, the integrity of the weft is compromised and it will shed more than "normal". When u use the Denman , make sure you start from the ends bc it cld also be breakage v/s  weft shedding.

I was gonna say the same as the poster above that it maybe because you split the wefts. KC sheds more than normal hair at the best of times so splitting will weaken even more.
