So I've been watching a bunch of YouTube video to learn how to make a wig. I thought I was ready but I'm running into a problem with the closure I bought. Instead of having mesh sides like this

It looks like this
http://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=hwFsM8VX-BPXdM&tbnid=hU2xWMdb6b4b8M:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.perfectlocks.com%2Fswiss-lace-closures%2Fcurly-swiss-lace-hair-closure-piece&ei=mP88UvHXE4uh4AOksYHAAQ&bvm=bv.52434380,d.dmg&psig=AFQjCNHPtlCKiJra8vNYwPHGVBY_86gtAw&ust=1379815681502520" rel="nofollow">
It basically only has mesh that spills over on top and none on the sides. What is on the sides looks like tape and it's very close to the actual hair

How am I supposed to sew the closure to the cap if there are no mesh sides? Is this a kind of closure that you can only glue?

You can still sew it down on three sides.  Don't sew down the front or if you do, use clear thread.  Some come with a ribbon around the edges.

But the hair is right on the edge. There's no virgin space for me to sew. Do I sew through the hair?

Just sew aroun the tiny lip kinda thru the strands.........just make sure you keep it flat

OK, I'm gonna try and do it like that. But there's hardly any space at all  Confused

I just realized I'm in TTT instead of weaves. Sorry about that

Bun the hair so you dont tangle the strands.

Is this something I should have asked when I ordered? Because I ordered another closure from another vendor and that one had side mesh... I'm a little confused

I have no clue but usually with vendors they accommodate request so I dont see them not being able to.......

Ok, thanks. Been watching videos for the last 2 days and I thought I understood everything. I didn't expect to run into this. I'm gonna have to literally go through the strands. None of the videos I viewed had closures like that. So annoying...

Yeah if the strands are on that tiny lip......the key is keeping it flat and not pulling the thread too hard cause thats going to make it bunch.

I think the closure with the edge you have might be better long term, less risk of fraying/tearing

I can't use that one. Not the right hair texture. I can only use the one without edges
