ehh. Hard to say.

3 math/stats class as of now (not too hard, yet)... But hopefully if theres enough room Im gonna take the  proofs class which can make my schedule a lot harder. I have to study for the actuary probability test on top of that but one of my classes kinda covers it so it shouldn't be too bad.

And then 1 womans studies class and 1 chorus class. Im excited for that.

But overall it shouldn't be too bad. Im not working like last semester and Im on campus close to everything. Im excited.

How does yours look CC?

I'm looking forward to it Big smile I love fall. The weather is perfect, all the seasonal candles/body washes come out (gingerbread, pumpkin, candy cane, etc).

I'm continuing my cosmo program. The only thing I don't like is the commute. It was fun during the summer but I hate being outside of my warm, comfy apartment when it starts raining. It probably won't start until December but still...

I need new clothes and new mannequin heads. I need to practice my pixie cuts. They are coming back in style

So weird!!!

After caring for my parents through their illnesses, and after many false starts because of it, I'm finally going back.

Have 4 classes this semester, all online at my local 2-yr.  Next semester I'm going back to my 4-yr.  It's going to be rough because I'm also taking two career courses with the Center for Legal Studies so really it's like a total of 6.

Interestingly enough, the online classes have waaaaayyyyyyyy more work than simply going to class.

I'm finally going back to school and I'm SOOO excited. Finishing up my gen-eds at a 2 year 5 minutes from my house, and commuting by bus to school work and back home. It's working out perfectly Big smile

I'm excited for school! I can't wait for the school bag I ordered on Aliexpress to get here Thumbs Up

Your own laptop

An external disk hard drive to back up your sh*t or use the cloud

Definitely office supplies, files pens etc

A good printer,

Find a reputable company that refills ink at a cost of the original price

A thorough filing system

And make sure you access your tutors as often as possible and your academic advisor.

And time, makes sure you create enough time to study.

It's very easy to get caught up in college hype..

Around 400 - 500 for a windows machine.  But you can squeak by for something around 350, give or take.  Just go to fatwallet.com to get some ideas.

I am upset that I am taking my classes either online or at night, but I chose my schedule to be like that so I could work during the day....
I am taking two English classes and one of them is only eight weeks, so no biggie. I bought my books early and I am already studying for my Psychology and Math classes to be ahead of the game Thumbs Up
I hope I can find some like-minded, motivated people this semester, to have study groups or to be able to create a club.

I love my profs. Most of the coursework is reading and then applying it to real world situations so I am lovin' it.Thumbs Up

...the catch is that each class has me writing a minimum of 15 pages for big assignments. Bout to get to know the writing lab real good this semester.

How are y'all ladies doing?

Miss unfoolish, have you gone by the professor's office outside of class hours? They will be happy to see you are interested and gladly help you understand. After that go see a free campus tutor! Get on top of this math issue early missy and you'll do great.Thumbs Up

Posted By: carolina cutie
Date Posted: Sep 07 2013 at 1:30am
How many credit hours is your program? Tbh, I'd put May 2015 too. Check your school handbook for program information, estimated credit hours per semester for you program and drop by the guidance counselor's office. They usually have a little checklist for students to make sure you take the right classes for your program.

Definitely swing by that math prof's office in the next week. Do it.Stern Smile

Class for me starts October 1.
I'm excited because I've been out of school for over a year now and doing nothing but working was killing my soul.

I'll be in class 35 hours a week (8:45-4:30, T-S), and working as much as I can.

Who you telling?  That's why I hit up craigslist for mine or went about nefarious ways of obtaining my books.  For one class, my set of books is just shy of 500 dollars.  Just for one class.

I would go about it like this: first go into what the movie is about, including the beginning, middle and end. Then you can write about what you liked about the movie, then the next section what you didn't like.  If that isn't enough, you can make comparisons to movies like the one you watch and critique the directing style and whatever else comes to mind.  Then you wrap it up and give your rec's or dismissal of the movie.  Hopefully this helps.

hmm yeah kinda

i just dont have any movies i can compare it to, and i dont have any dislikes tbh
so im stuck

how many paragraphs would make a 2-3 page? double spaced

Posted By: Gkisses

I dont know if this has become a "Random Thought Uni Edition" yet but... I  had to say in my freshman year I managed to get in an upper level phi class. I was given the option of dropping it once it was found out but I declined because I thought I could handle itTongue. I took on the hell of this class in addition to 3 other classes and landed at the final.  A 30 pg(not including the cite page) research paper single space in Chicago style format. It was horrible, I hated it and the prof....

I say all that just to say it prepared me to knock out research papers from then on in record time.

I am also prideful in my ability to bullsh!t paper the night before its due and still do well....and finally I get some type of weird pleasure typing my paper in single space then changing it over to double space when Im done to see if I made the page count needed. Dunno why but it gives me joy.

The classes I love the most are the ones I hate the most. Has this been anyone else's experience?

Like, I changed my major from econ to math because econ wasn't challenging or engaging an any way to me. Calc 2 was the first "hard" class I took, and I fuccing fell in love. It was so much fun compared to all my econ classes.

Now Im taking 3 math classes. 1 of them is hard af, but interesting and I want to work on the problems all damn day. the 2nd is mildly tough, but easier than I was expecting. I somewhat engaged. And then one of them is pretty straight forward at this point, and I'm not at all engaged (kinda reminds me of an econ class). Ion care.

Sounds like you enjoy learning and love challenging yourself.  I am like that with science.  Don't ask me why but I heart me some chemistry and statistics?  Lawd...  I think I would have enjoyed math if I had a solid grasp of the basics but I am contemplating on going back and getting a master in math or statistics.  But I also want to see if software engineering would be a good fit for me.

Yes it is.  Basically you have to set goals and priorities and if you have a job that wants to sabotage your efforts, keep mum about going back to school.  Because I noticed that some jobs want to "keep" you at that level and don't want to elevate yourself.  But you may not have that job environment.

I just finished my three summer quarter courses; 1 of which included public speaking and I aboultely hated my instructor he was just an absolute d*ck. Anyway I completed with three straight A's and made Dean's list woot!I finished my last day 9/8/13 and left for vacation with the Mr. to Riviera Maya, Mexico the same day, we planned it out the way to coincide with finals but it really felt like a nice "reward" per se for getting straight A's. Now my fall quarter begins next monday 9/23 and I will be taking Marketing, Computer concepts and Supervision for Human Resources. Hoping to pull out another set of A's!

Im a math major but on the statistics track, so I do many of those classes as well.
Do you like theoretical and abstract concepts or do you like worldly problems you can solve? Math (especially grad level) would be more abstract while engineering would be more of problems you can solve I think. Stats is somewhere in between. Also depends on what you want to do with your degree. Not a lot of jobs in math unfortunately.
