And crowns himself King of New York on the same track.

Big Sean couldn't get this one cleared for his upcoming album http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1711767/big-sean-hall-of-fame-fan-listening-session.jhtml" rel="nofollow - Hall of Fame , but he was kind enough to gift us with it anyway. The 7 and a half-minute track (with a beat courtesy of NO I.D.) includes features from Jay Electronica and Kendrick Lamar...who snapped and sent shockwaves across the Internet with his verse--least we forget why he was crowned http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1703255/hottest-mcs-2013-kendrick-lamar.jhtml" rel="nofollow - MTV News' "Hottest MC" of 2012.

Competition is a part of the game, but how often do you get to hear it put into rhyme like this?

Kendrick goes for the throat, calling out his boys by name--no hard feelings though. "I'm usually homeboys with the same Brothass i'm rhymin wit/But this is hip hop and them Brothass should know what time it is/And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller/I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you Brothas/Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you Brothass."

Oh, and not to mention that crowning himself "the king of New York" is sure to make a few more rappers take notice. ("I'm Machiavelli's offspring, I'm the king of New York/King of the Coast, one hand, I juggle them both)."

They heard you Kendrick.

"Since my new album #HallOfFame is avail for preorder in a couple hours Can I drop something that didnt make the album?! straight rap sh--..." https://twitter.com/BigSean/status/367101558011342848" rel="nofollow - Sean tweeted on Monday night . This one that didn't make the album cuz of the sample BUT IT IS NOT no radio sh--.. Straight rap... I'm talking 7min sh--... Grimey sh--."

King Kendricks verse

Tell Flex to drop a bomb on this sh*t
So many bombs, ring the alarm like Vietnam in this sh*t
So many bombs, make Farrakhan think Saddam in this bitch
One at a time, I line 'em up and bomb on they mom
While she watchin' the kids
I'm in a destruction mode if the gold exists
I'm important like the pope, I'm a muslim on pork
I'm Makaveli's offspring, I'm the king of New York
King of the Coast, one hand, I juggle them both

The juggernaut's all in your jugular, you take me for jokes
Live in the basement, church pews and funeral faces
Cartier bracelets for my women friends I'm in Vegas
Who the y'all thought it's supposed to be?
If Phil Jackson came back, still no coachin' me
I'm uncoachable, I'm unsociable
y'all clubs, y'all pictures, your Instagram can gobble these nuts
Gobble dick up 'til you hiccup, my big homie Kurupt
This the same flow that put the rap game on a crutch
I've seen Brothas transform like villain Decepticons
Mollies'll prolly turn these Brothas to *&%^$#@Ein' Lindsay Lohan
A bunch of rich ass white girls lookin' for parties
Playin with Barbies, wreck the Porsche before you give 'em the car key
Judge me 'til the monarchy, blessings to Paul McCartney
You called me a black Beatle, I'm either that or a Marley
(I don't smoke crack mother I sell it)
I'm dressed in all black, this is not for the fan of Elvis
I'm aimin' straight for your pelvis, you can't stomach me
You plan on stumpin' me? Bitch I’ve been jumped before you put a gun on me
Bitch I put one on yours, I'm Sean Connery
James Bonding with none of you Brothas, climbing 100 mil in front of me
And I'm gonna get it even if you're in the way
And if you're in it, better run for Pete's sake
I heard the barbershops be in great debates all the time
Bout who's the best MC? Kendrick, Ji and Nas
Eminem, Andre 3000, the rest of y'all
New Brothas just new Brothas, don't get involved
And I ain't rockin no more designer sh*t
White T’s and Nike Cortez, this is red Corvettes anonymous
I'm usually homeboys with the same Brothas I'm rhymin' wit
But this is hip hop and them Brothas should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you Brothas
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you Brothas
They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you Brothas
What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high
Who tryna jump and get it? You better off tryna skydive

Out the exit window of 5 G5’s with 5 grand
With your granddad as the pilot he drunk as tryna land
With the hand full of arthritis and popping prosthetic leg
Bumpin Pac in the cockpit so the sh*t that pops in his head
Is an option of violence, someone heard the stewardess said
That your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread

Will be interesting to see which NYC/East Coast artist steps up to the plate. That king of NY/juggle both coast line was fighting words back in the golden ages, but I'm not sure these new school cats have battling in them. Big Sean lets Kendrick sh*t on him on his own track and then Joey Badass seems more ready to ask for an autograph instead of doing battle.

My respect for Kendrick just went up even more. Wake these dudes up. Bring out the competition and artistry in them.  Straight hip hop sh*t.

Mainstream guys? Newer guys? Battle stuff? Hard to say cuz cats don't battle anymore.

Maybe Krit (judging by Krit murdering Kendrick on "1 Train").

Maybe Lupe (who seems to have his feelings hurt at the moment).

Maybe......J.Cole?....maaaaaybe.

Pusha if he took it serious enough. He isn't new school but I included him since he was called out.

Wouldn't feel confident about any of them because they don't seem hungry or motivated like Kendrick is at the moment. The bar has been set so low through the years that it's hard to even get a feel for how a rapper would approach a battle. If Drake wasn't suckered into going at Common, then I doubt he has it in him to really go at someone aside from a few slick bars.

If we include cats that aren't considered new school then yeah, someone like Elzhi would punish Kendrick if he was called out.

I'm salty for including pusha as a new jack dude has been out ten plus years.. Lol

But pusha can and will destroy kendrick if he really wanted malice would lay him to rest and plant his tombstone

But yeah outside of krit not a lot. Lazy guys though.

I don't include lupe in any lists right now.

Kendrick just declared himself the king of hiphop really..

Buddens can do damage too.. Big time

He calls out the new school, but Buddens and Pusha, two old school cats seem to be the only real threats. That's a pretty sad reflection of the new school.

Competition brings out the best, so maybe the new school cats will feel inspired to step their pen game up on some friendly competition sh*t. Exactly what hip hop needs, case in point.

@Tyga "That kendrick verse crazy! I gotta get back on my own shi.ain't gon lie I made so much $ I lost sum inspiration for music.#Inspired rite now"

That's why this is prolly gonna be the verse of the year. Shakes things up regardless of your personal taste of the bars.

I haven't felt that way about a verse since "takeover." Not overly showy, just straight to the point. It's the battle sound before the war. Very exciting and even more of a (cant figure out how to word this) anticipation builder because of who he called out and even more so, WHO HE DIDN'T lol. Hip hop needs this.

Love the Phil Jackson references. It's a pretty accurate analogy for the rap game in comparison to basketball nowadays. Like the call back to Kurupt too, who once put out "Callin Out Names" where he...called out the game. Kendrick is def a student of hip hop.

The lyrics are hitting at the trends of the current rap game and the sellouts that occupy it.  For instance, rappers trendily talking about popping mollies and messing with white girls, or even worse being no different from the white girls.

He has the wordplay ish (juggernaut all in your jugular) but that isn't what is going to hurt someones feelings. Making the boot fit does and that's why even his fambam, cats like Danny Brown, Asap, Pusha would have to elevate beyond that (rappity rap wordplay, tired punchlines) to issue a proper response.

The subtext is what makes the verse and what it stands for dope to me, as well as the parallel that exists in relation to past eras.

At some point in the 90s, rap became about shiny million dollar videos, corporate sponsorship, champagne. A series of call outs shook things up, hurt some feelings, and inspired rappers like Jay and Nas to elevate beyond what they were being sh*tted on for.

In 2013, no one cares about being a king, a legend, the number one guy..they care about designer clothes, making hit records, and partying...By Kendrick calling them out and making himself the target, the bar, then it gives those he called out room to accept a new challenge, a change in focus...remind them that being a king in hip hop used to be a prize...maybe someone takes Kendrick out with an inspired verse....but that's sort of the point.

Get your pens out. You gon let him sh*t on you, your hobbies, your album, your mama, and your name like that?

lol so is Budden and Badass the only east coast cats to take offense so far? Jadakiss giving props?

Edit: Oh I guess Fab too. Seems most of the old heads appreciate it since it's a challenge to the young bucks peers.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367276346181177344" rel="nofollow - Now I hope it serves its purpose and brings forth some amazing bars in response records.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367277021287944194" rel="nofollow - Not looking for disrespectful diss records. I'm looking for BARS! Now's the time for rappers to RAP.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367277831124172801" rel="nofollow - Bar for bar, the verse wasn't all that. But the MESSAGE it delivered was powerful as hell!

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367278230942023680" rel="nofollow - It's because an artist of his stature. At this point in his career (basically on top nh) actually named names and said I'm better than you!

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367277982135881728" rel="nofollow - It wasn't a complex verse with any crazy wordplay or anything like that. Yet at the same time, it's bigger than that.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367279502931800064" rel="nofollow - I agree RT https://twitter.com/SDotG_Man" rel="nofollow - @SDotG_Man : https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - @OfficiallyIce it's all about the intention of the verse ... Haven't seen sh*t like this in YEARS!

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367280637025476608" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/ItsKeem" rel="nofollow - @ItsKeem and what I'm saying is a west coast rapper should NEVER feel comfortable enough to say that. In any aspect. Even metaphorically.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367281249075093504" rel="nofollow - Those were "yea I said it and yeah I meant it. Don't like it, do something" bars.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367283961271447552" rel="nofollow - You rappers can't even use your normal "I'm sell more records than you" response. Cause you don't.

https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce" rel="nofollow - https://twitter.com/OfficiallyIce/status/367308287756500993" rel="nofollow - Drake reply gon come as a subliminal on probably the best record of 2013. Watch. Smh.LOL

He says Joel Ortiz will be responding. Slaughterhouse might get to live up to their name for once.

The messenger with all them rings on that horse
carrying kings heads till i kick you in the chest and you cough
and you fall into a bottomless pit
homie, you know how many bodies that fit?
maybe that's why you left me outta that sh*t

and

you fashion rappers with the kind of jeans that hardly can zip
so zip it, I got this sh*t, real hip hop in this bitch

and

anybody can get it, old nigguh, new nigguh,
him nigguh, you nigguh, two nigguhs, a few nigguhs
I do nigguhs harm with these bars
you was brave, took a chance like monopoly cards
but that telly you tryna check in, boy that properties ours
can't get a w on broadway, I'm new york all day

Why should I recycle bars when my mind is a flight to Mars?
And any force I came across was like rhyming inside a star
With the Universe on my back, your human version is wack
I grab my extraterrestrial testicles when I rap
And tell the earth suck it, tell the planet try it
I turn this bi*ch into the Independence Day without the lucky drunk pilot
I love competition, constructing a composition
Of destruction, puttin destructicons in a calm position (?)
I'm Optimus Prime trucking your boulevard, just wishin'
That a star screams so I can go on a bombing mission

Thought the multis were a bit forced with that though.
