Well that's why some people oppose sex selection. Because everyone would choose boys and it would have social consequences. I feel like I am weird for preferring girls.

To clarify I read somewhere that always choosing boys first (if we had the choice) would have social consequences as well--if nearly every family was boy then girl.

Okay I should have said most people. But enough that ethicists are concerned about it.

But anyway this is supposed to be a fun thread so Big smile let's not worry with that.

it's women who say "i don't want daughters bc of xyz." usually those reasons are founded in nothing but fallacy and disdain for women.

It is more money than was ever spent on me.  I was never high maintenance or materialistic.
I forgot about the electronics that constantly need replacing. cell phones, ipods. laptops, psp's etc..  & they aren't getting jobs during the school yr, they need to focus on grades.  I will only allow them to have summer jobs

I just wanted my first child to be a boy. After that I don't care, but I do want a daughter later on down the line.

I only wanted a boy first because I want him to protect and stick up for his future younger siblings like my brother did for us when we were younger.

I want a little boy first that is  2 years old than the lil sis. That way she would have a person looking out for her most of her school years and the boys her age would be scared to mess with her. I would be so sad to have only one gender. I want to see my little ones in both genders.

I read about these in "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret." This isn't what I pictured. But then again I had no idea what a period was back then either.

Lol I was a girl scout. I know there are some girls who develop really early and they should have left that to them. I didn't know what the hell was going on but I acted like I was following along. "Oh, periods, yeah, I have tons of those at home!" Lol

Why would your son not be to able to carry the family name if he were "gay"? Gay men can have children as well..

It may or may not be our blood.  It also may or may not carry our name depending on how flexible his partner is.  His partner may want his name instead of my son's.

If BHM is any indication on how these things go, then it can get VERY UGLY when deciding.  Look how many here are not willing to take their husband's name or wanna hyphenateDead

I told my boys, dont ever bring a bish around here that aint willing to drop her name!!

I don't care about this random behind last name probably adopted from the owner of my ancestors.

I want a boy and a girl. It doesn't matter the order.

I have to agree with afro about the relationship the girls have with their fathers. I'm 21 years old and just now realizing that my dad has faults. I use to run full speed to hug em when he picked me up from day care. Hid behind his legs many a times. His lap belonged to me and only me and no hussy was gonna sit in it while I was around.

My mom got love too I use to scream "MOMMMA!" and come running when I heard the latch on the front door to give my mom a hug and a kiss every night. It just wasn't with the same amount of vigor and amazement as it was with my dad.

They had to have received some kind of satisfaction from that. I'd like to think that was the best part of their day.

My brother never showed those kinds of outwardly emotions toward my parents. (that i ever noticed) Is that normal for boys? If so, imma NEED a girl.

Can't even twerk no mo. They tired out. Lets ride out.
