I have none of the extras.  No sports packages, HBOS, nothing just basic HD cable and for some reason in 2 years my bill went from $55.00 to $75.00.  I called and complained and they couldnt explained why it happened so they gave me a $20.00 for the next 6 months.  So now Im back to paying $55.00LOL.  After these 6 months I'm going to call back and complain to get another credit lol.

Man I feel his pain... I use to feel the same way with TWC, and I imagine if I had been inside a customer service center, it couldve gone down the same way, because Time Warner Cable/ Comcast/Optimum/Adelphia, will make you get outside yourself.

- have had ZERO problem out of Verizon Fios!!!

Please dear TC. Tell me the ways of the Jedi

My husband flips over the bill. He dont care if it was $2.00 over. They better pull out their books and explain each and every charge or else he's not getting off the phone. If they don't tell him what he needs to know, he'll pull a "I don't wanna talk to you anymore. Put me on the phone with a supervisor".

It works though. We stay getting discounts. Every single time it was an error/oversight on their part.

i have found a few sites that stream msnbc, and cnn live.

the only issue would be sports...which i am not into anyway so meh...even still i found a site my bf loves that he can watch sports from all over the world (especially soccer since he is really into that)...the quality of pic is not that great on a big screen...but he doesn't care...lol

That would be more useful to hubster and I. It's a totally different dynamic with the children and daycare kids. I gotta find a way cause this cable bill is eating my pockets. I get tired of waiting until "Black Christmas" to write it off.

I tried going online with the TV but it won't allow me to download the plug-ins needed to watch TV/videos. I tried using the computer/laptop but these little ones have "touching-Itis"

no.   i find that the browsers on the smart tv's suck.  my bf has one of the latest samsungs...it sucks..,.lol   we still end up hooking a lap top to it.  the issue is the browswers...don't have flash or don't keep up with the newest version so it was always a problem on my favorite sites.  same with google tv, boxy box and all the others.  i've tried them all.  boooooo

for my home, eventually, i just brought a cheap lap top from costco with an hdmi connection and hooked that up permanently to my projector.  bought a wireless keyboard (with mouse functionality on it) and voilla.

i'm very happy with the set up.  and now i can be on bhm, shopping, and watching love&hiphop all at the same damn time on my big screen!Smile

mzmee....that's the only thing netflix is useful for imo.  when my god daughter comes over, she stays on netflix watchin her kiddy shows.  the  issue with the sites i use to watch shows, is the pop up adverts.  some are...ahem...adult in nature.  i can't have her subjected to a giant boob (or something worse)  popping up on the screen while she is trying to load up hanna montanna...LOLOuch

Depending on the type of tv you have, you can connect your tv to your laptop and let the kids watch on the big screen and put your laptop out of reach. We don't have cable, or regular tv. We have a large screen computer and we stream everything like that.

Comcast is rather expensive.. They only give you one real box that allows you view all the channels you're paying for.. If you have another tv it will only get basic (and I do mean basic) cable.. And my $hit is $90 a month...

I was just thinking about this the other day. Got a billion channels but I only watch a handful. Only reason I feel like I need cable is for sports.

Once they figure out a sports package for the netflix, amazon instant videos of the world, I'll be permanently done with cable.

I already use firstrowsports for streaming sports but it's too unreliable and I want my ish in HD on the big screen TV.

yep.  he still loves it tho (there is one other that he uses  http://www.vipbox.tv/" rel="nofollow - http://www.vipbox.tv/ ) ...especially for stuff that doesn't normally come on cable anyway, like soccer.  he said he was going to look into some package for bball that nba.com offers.  i don't care about sports so i never followed up with him.  lol

i will ask him to see what he found out...

i watch the free hd channels (abc, nbc, cbs, fox ect) and shows from other networks over the interwebs...

i have found a few sites that stream msnbc, and cnn live.

the only issue would be sports...which i am not into anyway so meh...even still i found a site my bf loves that he can watch sports from all over the world (especially soccer since he is really into that)...the quality of pic is not that great on a big screen...but he doesn't care...lol

Have you tried a media center?
( http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Media-Center-Full-HD/dp/B004GK0GKO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357665822&sr=8-1&keywords=media+center" rel="nofollow - http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Media-Center-Full-HD/dp/B004GK0GKO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357665822&sr=8-1&keywords=media+center )

We have an older one that works great. We just use the computer to download movies and tv shows then watch it on tv with the media center. They are easy to setup and play all current formats.

I've had it with these cable companies as well.

I threatened to leave Comcast and they basically told me they didn't care because I always pay my bill late.

Lol there aren't late fees though and that's why I never pay it on time. It's the only bill that I let ride til I feel like it, usually like a week or two late. Ive never gotten it turned off or even a call about it. Fck them. They're lucky my complex only allows Comcast anyway. I wasn't going to leave bc I can't, I just wanted a cheaper bill lol. Why am I paying 120 a month when Im a relatively new customer and I only have inet and cable?

I tried the same thing with Comcast, and that heifer might as well had laughed in my face.

I live in a college town, and they know they're the next best thing to DirecTV, and most of these complexes won't allow satellites.

Comcast pretty much has a monopoly on cable here, so they feel like they can get away with anything.

I cut the cable off (well forgot to pay my bill before I left for Jamaica) in June and have not looked back since. I have two first generation apple tvs that I jailbroke, and a roku box. It is nothing on tv I cannot watch. I can watch all the live channels including cable with a program called XBMC.

Don't miss paying that bill. I had cable, phone and internet. Now I have phone and internet through my job (work at home). I have saved 167.00 per month since doing so. That is too much money and I live alone no thanx!

thats why they get all the channels....b/c they have boxes on each tv.  you have to pay for each of those boxes though.  if you don't want to pay for a dct for each tv then you end up with a dta(the little black box) that only allows basic cable channels.

I'm like so many questions...

1) is he on drugs? Cause there is no way that he would have so much robust energy for a damn cable bill

2) why does her ass look like a bag of russet potatos in those pants?

3) why is it always black folk showing out????? why??

4) so he felt like he sould just soak up all that cable for free?

5) Why he countin her money? It's not like he's saying I'm not paying it, he's saying I'm not letting YOU pay for it...LOLLOLLOL...

You gon get this work Nicca

He is tripping. Eighty dollars is not that much. It's going to cost even more to bail his ass out of jail for acting a fool in the public. If you not gonna pay then just don't pay it. He went to the extreme.

I've had it with these cable companies as well.

I threatened to leave Comcast and they basically told me they didn't care because I always pay my bill late.

I tried the same thing with Comcast, and that heifer might as well had laughed in my face.

I live in a college town, and they know they're the next best thing to DirecTV, and most of these complexes won't allow satellites.

Comcast pretty much has a monopoly on cable here, so they feel like they can get away with anything.

yup.  that's the thing.  Around here they give no fuccs because if u don't have them u can't get nuffin' else.  Alot of places don't want satellite dishes fuccin' up the esthetic of their houses.

where I currently reside...the landlord when we were lookin' the place over he asked if we had dish and basically said he won't even consider us if we have it.  He didn't want no dishes and cords n'sh*t hangin off the side of his house.

Comcast are straight up criminals.

if you're an employee at comcast you better have your bill paid before you quit.  i worked there briefly and had the works at about $25 per mth.  i hadn't paid my bill and 3 days later i log onto my acct and it's at $98.  what i had would've been well over $160 so i don't see how they computed that...but they are sharks.
