My baby Pokie is on his death bed. Some of you know and others don't but Pokie is my dog. He's a 10 year old American bulldog. I guess he's held on as long ad he could. I'm having him put down tomorrow. I'm just sad been crying my eyes out for 2 days and need some e hugs and someone to pet me. I don't think I will ever be happy again.

This was his last pic

I don't know what I'd do if my Snoop died.

how do yall know she doesn't have the dog bc she can't have her own children or something and that's why she calls him her baby? if you hover over the thread the word dog shows up on the preview.

OP i am sorry you're going to have to put your pet down.

hugs bubbly.

I went through this w/ my first dog.
our pets become members of our family..and it hurts when we lose them.

just know he's no longer going to be in pain.
and remember all the good times you had w/ him.

hugs again.

my vet at the time..offered to let me stay in the room while they administered the drugs.
so maybe youll get to hold his little paw..until the end.

Bubbly, people who've never been close to a dog just can't understand. They really do become your baby and they're there for you ALL the time... unlike most people.

I'm so sorry you're losing your little one Cry. Just know that you've shared great times together and he'll be watching over you.

Jack.
Someone was having a rough life and we brought them to stay with us. our monkey was very smart and helpful, and he helped to fold clothes, stir the pot etc. One day he was playing hide and seek in her baby's bath tub, and she got upset and slapped him. Well he was small, and she damaged his brain. Blood trickled down his nose, then he died. She was promptly kicked out on the street.

I understand what youre saying. I read it as her meaning her child. However, as a dog owner I understand why she refers to her pet as he baby as well. I feel some kinda way about a person loosing both but my heart sank a little when I thought it was a child. I agree with your suggestion that it might have been clearer if the title read something like 'My baby (dog) is dying' but it is what it is. People who are curious or concerned with come in a see she's talking about a dog. Others will skip over it. *Shrugs*

Just started feeling comfortable referring to my dog as my baybah.

She's about 10 years old.

I understand what you meant. I understand folks initial alarm.

Some might say it was better left unsaid...nevertheless.

I am soooooooo sorry to hear about your doggie.

I had to put down one of my beloved pets of 8 years.

It's uber difficult. But it get's easier.

He will no longer be in pain.

And my mother reminded me that I did my job and did it well.

Didn't you take excellent care of him? You provided him with a lifetime of love and care. He was a very very fortunate doggie.

Don't fret over what could have been. Cherish the moments you shared.

Cherish the memories and lessons your bookie butt gave you.

His absence doesn't make his story in your life less real. He was hereHeart

And you did one hell of a good job. Look at that smile!
He won't be in sight. But he will always have that special home in your heart.

Hope your journey towards healing is full of discovery that will ease the pain.

I'm  sorry to hear of this. I know the love of a pet and the loss of a pet. I will keep you lifted in prayer but know if he was sick this is best so he wont suffer. Remember, in time this will not sting as bad.  I lost one cat in a fire and one through a medical condition.  It hurts just like a natural person.

Remember, when you are ready, and that time will come...remember that the shelter has many loving animals that need a home and are waiting to be resuecued and loved.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I cried like a baby all day but I did get to hold his paw as he passed on. It looked like he was sleeping so peacefully. He was the sweetest thing you'd ever meet. I am really missing him right now. I keep calling his name thinking he's going to mosey his way into the doorway like he usually does. This is so hard but thanks for your kind words.
