Ladies,

What are some of your plans for 2013?

I plan to never let anyone else touch my  hair... braidists etc. I cringe when I see them raking through.

I'm going to start following good advice I've seen on here but been too lazy to follow.

I plan to wear my natural hair the whole year - no wigs, braids or weaves. These have been a crutch for me and is the reason why I have no clue what to do with my hair.

Deep condition twice a week, no matter what.

Throw out all my shampoos and REally just Cowash only

When I take these durn braids out, I will post a starting pic for 2013

1. Hopefully end my transition .. I'm on month 21. I think I could transition forever.(in a weave though)
2. Stop wearing weaves ( I guess this would end my transition)
3. Finish every product (I always leave a little in the bottom, I don't know why)

Bun until my hair line receeds j/k
But i would love to be able to bun with not too much tension.
I always say i'm going to have more fun with my hair but never happens so might try that as i'm more in the cbl to apl barrier now.
And finally.. Get rid of all styling and daily moisturiser products. :)

For myself, I plan to moisturize more, wear my hair down more (I'm loc'd) and retwist no more than every 2 months.

For my daughter, mini twists, less combing and more working with her on how to manage her own hair.  I think I'm going to get her the Curly Girl book when it releases in January.

-have a set routine and stick with it
-bun and braids until May 2013 (steam every weekend if I can get that stupid thing to act right, if not just steam in the shower twice that weekend)
-shampoo less, which means use less products = save money!
-moisturize as needed with the right products (buying new ones in March once I come out of braids)
-APL by Dec 2, 2013 (my birthday)!

I plan to never ever neglect my hair again!!!

No skipping on hair routine in the evening no matter how tired I am, it doesn't take much time and makes so much of a difference.

No serial bunning without the proper hair care/product(s).

I will try to section my hair after it's detangled to prevent it from tangling even worse.

Experiment with styles some more and wear it out again some more.

Maximize growth and retention during growth and resting stages.

Learn how to self trim.

Work on my hairline. Its naturalky thin and I see some fuzz asprouting.

Build simple and solid straight hair reggie for colder months with 1-3 moderately priced products.

Grow and retain everything bc WL here I come(hopefully)!

Protective styling by wearing weaves
Limit flatironing to one time in 2013
Airdry instead of blowdrying
Laying off the scissors until I need to trim

I'm hoping this will help me plus what I'm already doing will help me reach mbl.

2013 will be a year to keep it simple! I’ve experimenting with hair styles and products for 2 years. I’m planning to wear weaves all year with 2-3 weeks between installs. Ordered afro kinky curly from RHO (I’m UK based, shipment is not expensive) and plan to install in the first week of January. Minimum manipulation, simple regimen and keeping moisture/protein balance should allow me to reach BSL by the end of the year (currently natural 4a/4b APL).Smile

I usually wear my hair not so tight in a poof/bun to keep ends off on my collar.

In my mind want to focus on length but to hell with that just going to enjoy my hair try to wear a wash n go at least for 2 days cuz don't ever wear my hair down always braids or buns for sure dye my ends since it been almost a year and their back strong thanks to protein.

Posted By: lalaLeslie
Date Posted: Jan 23 2013 at 1:59pm
I plan on trimming my ends
I plan on being more gentle w/ my hair and having more patience w/ it
I plan on trying new products (when my old products are gone) and in turn figuring out what my hair needs/doesn't need (such as protein)
I plan on protective styling more w/ sew ins/wigs/braids/etc.
I plan on making sure my hair is stretched well and not even slightly tangled or dry before getting my hair done at a salon because my last experience was horrible and I'm sure it's going to cause a major setback in my journey
I also plan on trying the cherry lola treatment at least once
I also plan on trying bentonite (or the more expensive Rhassoul) clay
I plan on visiting a salon in my city that supposedly caters to natural hair and getting a trim and maybe even a style (although I could do it myself, it's just easier/nicer having someone else do you hair, unless they don't know what they're doing - then it's a nightmare)
