This...I'm a little surprised that we have 2 threads going on about how ppl need to stay within the community and not date out. Yet, I guess it's ok if you're gay to date out. Apparently LGBT black ppl don't represent the community?!

But regarding the bolded:

I would say that it's usually black men get side-eyed but given the begrudging pass while black women are considered to be betraying the black community even when we're being belittled and demeaned in music and media by BLACK MEN.

And this is why I dont understand why yall (and I say yall based on the way you answered the OPs question) get bent out of shape when anybody dates outside of their race, especially celebs. Cause they, straight, gay, or other, probably aren't checking for any of you all anyway. *Shrugs*

Because it was so pretty & pink!

But seriously...I can't stand hypocrisy...if I'm getting chastised for marrying out...then he better be getting the same for it. Otherwise, everyone needs to do as Richard Pryor told them:

Have a coke and a smile and shut the Censored up.

It's the SAME people too. In one thread it's, "People that marry out get a side eye," but in this thread it's "Good for him."  Oh well, I get a lot of flack IRL too, but my colleagues with WW are given a pass. I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

Yeah I don't care when ppl date out.
But I know in a lot of instances there is some issues going on.

Even in those cases I don't really care. Like care as irl concerned.
But when it comes to having a pro black agenda then I would like everything to coincide with one another.

But yeah good for him

That goes for bw or bm.

I dare you to fine evidence to refute that

I don't care about people dating outside of their race as long as they're not making sweeping, generalized negative statements about their own race as an excuse.

It doesn't make a difference to me. Many of those arguments are based in emotion rather than logic. Everyone is entitled to their feelings, but I still think it is a contradictory view.

And I totally get this bc of the implications for a political/activist figure and how it can be perceived by society at large beyond just the AA community. But there are a lot of ppl who just throw shade indiscriminately.

Tell me when I've ever said this.
I've never said someone was a traitor and I've NEVER seriously called some the C word.
I don't use that type of language.

Now what I have said is if you're pro black then It makes sense that it would be not only in your efforts on the outside but in your personal life.

That's what I said the whole thread and what I've always say.

But the discussion in the other thread was about "pro-Black" people, meaning people who desire and support the advancement of Black people. That is not limited to political activists. If the other thread said that political Black social activists get the side eye for having a non-Black spouse, that'd be one thing, but the general consensus was that people that marry out don't truly support the Black community.

Posted By: foxyroy19

I have not met a woman (heterosexual)  (doesn't mean she is non-existent) that would knowingly date a bisexual man...or mess with a man who has admitted to having sexual or romantic relationship with men.  Now I know BHM will point out these invisible women are all over the place.  Based on previous threads I think there is or was a consensus that it was a hell no for most of us on here.

I will say when " pro black" ppl marry it I wonder about their concerns about the black family and things like that.

But no one is in rl hounding ppl about who they choose but it is counter intuitive to me.

I feel like you are particularly sensitive to this topic Lima

I tend not to worry about activists who claim to represent the struggle of my race. Just through everything I've seen in life, most people who put themselves up on a pedal stool as the "saviors" of a community or even politicians in general (regardless of race) have enough skeletons in their closet to fill a graveyard.

I can't take them seriously as role models when they end up lacking in morality.

the black comm needs a poster couple of black homosexuality, frank would have been perfect especially with all the fanfare that centred around his coming out party

frank ocean being with another black man would have been epic and spoken volumes.

its almost as if it says, its ok to be gay, as long as you date out .. lol
