Mashonda: ‘[Alicia Keys'] JET Interview Added Insult To Injury’

part 2, lol

http://necolebitchie.com/2012/11/21/mashonda-alicia-keys-jet-interview-added-insult-to-injury/screen-shot-2012-11-21-at-12-45-56-pm/" rel="nofollow">
Uh Oh! The can of worms have been reopened.Last week, snippets of Alicia Keys’ interview with JET made it’s way on the internet where she denied any involvement in the demise of Swizz Beatz’s marriage to his ex-wife MaShonda. She told the publication:
…[They] were apart for some time before we ever got together…that doesn’t matter to those who take pleasure in trying to knock others down…there’s no need to fight what’s not true.
Of course, MaShonda felt a certain way about the interview and decided to set the record straight. She recently sat down with Global Grind for a brief interview where she discussed how she felt about Alicia’s comments. She also revealed that she’s been through therapy to help her get over her broken marriage and that she’s not as bothered by the entire situation or the subliminal shots as she once was.
Read a few excerpts below:
On how she felt when she first read Alicia Key’s interview with JET Magazine
Not much surprises me anymore when it comes to this situation. I truly thought that everyone’s priority was the well being of the children involved. I don’t see the sense in throwing oil on a fire, it just takes us back to point A. The Jet interview just added insult to injury. I can’t figure out how this makes us better. How is it a positive, humanitarian gesture? But artists must protect their reputation and I get that.

In the interview Alicia Keys says “…[They] were apart for some time before we ever got together…that doesn’t matter to those who take pleasure in trying to knock others down…there’s no need to fight what’s not true…” Did you feel like this was a indirect stab at your open letter?
There have been many stabs and shots taken, thankfully they don’t bother me the way they used to. I’ve never lied about one thing involving the demise of my marriage. No, we were not “apart” or separated, and that’s just a fact that can be proven in many ways. Blessings have a way of disguising themselves. This situation has helped me to understand life and what really matters.

On how she dealt with the divorce
There is a level of humiliation and criticism that the average person wouldn’t be able to conceive, it really altered my life, but gave me a super thick skin. It’s been a rollercoaster ride. I’ve lost weight, gained weight, lost some hair and almost lost hope and mental focus. For months I saw a therapist because I needed someone to assist me in putting the pieces back together. There was a lot of stress and pain, it’s been challenging. I’ve found ways to cope and not get consumed in a dark space. You have to take care of yourself and move forward. In my case, I have a child and live for him. I have a purpose and I won’t giv
e up on it.

poor mashonda..

she should call up cassidy and they do a reunion tour of their one hit together

she always comments almost instantly whenever alicia speaks

her soul is burning slow, but youd think after the london kid came out youd think she would think or have an epiphany that she dodged a bullet

i always find it funny when two women are going at it like this, putting so much energy into addressing rumors and firing shots at one another and this dude aint saying jack diddly squat. he just in the background probably planning his next trifling move while his woman is defending their relationship.

Both A. Keys and Kanye are going to make wicked breakup albums.

Kanye most definitely will though.

Alicia Key's next hit is gonna be called "Flop" featuring Bow Wow's broke ass and recycling the same beat from "Unthinkable". Alicia sux so bad nowadays imo.

I've only read Alicia address this issue once while Mashonda seems to never stop talking about it.

And the ones she saved up from ages 13-early 20 something are way better than the crap she rushes to put out now. She needs to sit her ass down and don't come back out with anything else until she's ready.

Stealing melodies from dead people smh.

LoL that don't mean she gotta steal the whole damn song and play it off like it's hers. She prolly can't even play the piano farreal farreal. But she replicating other people's stuff and letting people assume she really sat at the piano and came up with it smh. Plus she and Christina Aguilara did a song called "Impossible" on her first album I think that was clearly a rip off of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way." If you gonna remake a song then remake the damn song, ain't no need to try to be slick about it.

Umm.....o...k....
So now you have a problem with samples after decades of them being used.
I guess you'll never listen to another song again huh?
Especially not a hip hop song.

If the lyrics are different why do you need to credit someone?
All inspiration needs to be credited?

Boys to Men's "End of the Road" and the Spinner's "It Takes a Fool" sound very similar to me(the music in the begining), I think it's just something that most artist do and we point out those who we don't particularly care for.

Meh when I was younger my sister loved her some Alicia Keys and I listened to a lot of the people she copied so I happened to notice. It's not that I don't liker her at all. I just think she's slick.

It just so happens that I haven't yet. I'm not singling her out. I like a lot of her stuff. I like a lot of older R&B. I like a lot of piano and other classical. I noticed. It is what it is.

Yes, it seems to be taking a while for her to get over the Beak. However folks need to keep in mind that you don't get over a failed marriage as easily as you get over a boyfriend/girlfriend or a" dude I'm kicking it with" relationship, especially if there are kids involved. It's just not on the same level. The whole keep it moving sentiment becomes simplistic in that type of circumstance. That being said, he was such a pig to her, I hope she bounces back soon

I'm tired of Mashonda and i'm tired of Alicia. I'm tired of that stupid song Girl On fire. I want to put her fire out already all the screaming she is doing and that song sounds like the song she sang at Whitney Houstons funeral. Girls that play pianos are ho's. Mashonda was thrown off by the innocent piano playing but I knew she was a ho. She played the piano like one. I'm tired of taylor Swift i want to shove a spiral notebook down her throat anytime I hear one of her stupid dear diary songs

understand that Mashonda feels hurt and by all means it takes time to heal but sometimes silence is golden in situations like this. When Brad Pitt got with Angelina & dumped jughead Jennifer Aniston I said damn he is foul but I admired Jens approach to the entire situation. She barely said anything. Mashonda talks on twitter, she talks on facebook, she talks about it on Instagram, she had a reality show and talke dabout it on there, she talks about it while she is on the toilet sh*t she talks about it all the time. I ran into her over the Summer and told her how much I loved her song Blackout. She responded with Do you know your worth? because Alicia Keys doesn't have any worth she took my husband that I was still married to. I just listened while I ate my sushi. She talks to anyone that will listen.

uuuh EFFING THANK YOU! I mean some of yall act like your hearts are made of steel or something. It was her husband and she has a kid to boot. Not only the affair but the way it happened just hurts. Sheid I'm hurt for her. Lord forbid this ever happened to yall and someone tells you to KIM. Its easier said than done. Shes simply responding to what was said. Every action has an equal reaction. She said it. Its over. I think shes moving on well. Not as bitter as she was at first. Thats a step in the right direction. I wish her the best.

Mashonda is doing just what she should. She seemed to have started simmering down from it all, but mrs off-key decided to do a sit down interview about it. Errtime alicia decided to open her mouth about why she isn't a homewrecking heffa, id put out another article saying why she is lol.

That's childish and stupid.
Mashonda will be forever alone until she decides it's time to let it go.

Hurt has no cutoff period and I'm surely not going to judge that woman for being publicly hurt like she was publicly betrayed.

And you too have been thanked!

How long has it been since they spilt up?

After that miscarriage and Swizz having another baby at the same time, I can only see Mashonda as plain silly.
She knew her husband wasn't ish.

The miscarriage, though a tragedy, was an opportunity for her to make a clean break with him. Instead she chose to have another child.

Jen barely said anything because everyone and their mama was attacking Angelina Jolie. Even Donald Trump's nutty ass publicly in an interview attacked Angelina and talked about how great Jen is. It was very public. Brad escaped all the slander because all of it was directed toward Angelina. Mashonda is not getting the same defense. Mashonda and Alicia could have done better than Swizz.

Mashonda could very well be over it.  You don't have to speak with malice in order to speak your truth.

Guess they just gonna go tit for tat with the same ole Swizzy bs.
And they are ok with looking stupid.

Ish has been already said in 2010.

What has Swizz said?

Couldn't pay me to say a peep about this years later.
Especially with kids involved.

I'm not gonna say what Mashonda should or shouldn't be over. But her truth has been told all over social media, in emails, text messages, skype, and on the bathroom stall of the restroom. Chick has gotten her story out and we've heard it repeatedly. She's not doing herself any favors by constantly responding. A. Keys looked real stupid with this interview and she should've just let that hoe burn.

Yea, I can't rock with Mashonda on this one. Her relationship has been over. They are all pathetic.
