I remember 3 years ago when virgin hair was a fairly new concept. I also remember older members such as ricardo lol. Velvet remy and bobbi boss were once considered the hottest hair on BHM. Anyways, for a while now I noticed that at my local bss, the remy hair is always on sale now! I think women are really realizing more and more about good hair from youtube and are ditching the BSS remy altogether. Even KiKi from the hood who been rockin that "behind the counter hair" is now talking about getting some brazilian. Are you noticing this trend in your local bss? How common is virgin hair in your neighborhood?

I see a few chics rocking higher quality hair, usually college students. The population of my city is like 3-5% Black, and 80% of them live on the opposite side of town. I see more naturals in my area, actually. The natives are deadset on Milky Way and those plastic BSS lace wigs with the moon hairline. Anyone rocking anything other than that is likely not from here.

Ashley Hair company is opening a store here. I talked to them about a month ago and was invited to see what they would be selling in the store. Haven't had a chance to visit, but they seemed very nice. I've seen mixed reviews on the hair, but I'm sure they will expose "virgin" hair to a lot more people who would never order online. Those "I have to touch it" buyers.

For now it is. Eventually the higher prices will cause most to go back to BSS hair which will continue to improve the quality at lower prices in order to compete.

THIS! I remember my sophomore year when I was laughed at by other black girls because I had spent "so much money" on my kinky straight (which is still perfect 2 years laterClap) while they were getting there BOGO Milky Way that would mat up in 3 weeks. Now these same girls are trying to educate ME on their virgin Indian and asking if I want a hook-up Stern Smile

Haha that's funny. Because I can attribute to the fact that I hve very recently made my first "virgin" purchase. But wen I tell you this past summer was nothing but research before I made my purchase. But now I think its funny wen girls buy all these name hair & really think it is true Brazilian, Malaysian, etc. To me I be like where them countries at. Point em out on a map lol.

Sadly, the BSS sales are alive and well in my area. I spoke to someone recently who proudly stated that  she can get 3 months wear out of Chocoloate hair.  I really wanted to tell her that just because you can doesn't mean that you should. That hair should have been shot and killed 2 moths ago.

Hello everyone I am very new to this and I do appreciate your feed back if giving.
Ok so I've read a lot of forums of being scammed ,hair not being pleasing , bullsh*t companies and everything in between
First off let me say been there done that Ive order the expensive hair only to have it be a raccoon's nest oh and yes I been to the omg I just found a
Vendor from china the pictures looking so promising so I hurried up and buy lol but freal I seen it all I even f$&king trust them damn liiers on YouTube that lie and say the hairs good but the really had a deal with the company . So I been on the search to find vendors like everyone else
I been so crazy that if a company took a pic in the country I be looking in the pic to find clues of where the really were.
But anyways to make this long story short I have found a couple of vendors ( and the reason that I not telling at this time is because I'm trying t o start a business ) but freak I don't care about that sh*t Bout not sharing vendors cuz damn if you can look good why can't I can you really hook a sister up
I swear the vendors I don't use I will pass on or inbox ppl so I don't put ppls vendors on blast
So you know 90% of this hair business is ran buy other races other the black and when it it is black some how the liikkle bit of money gets to their head and they get greedy ( not jumping to conclusion I seen with my own eyes )
Well I feel like I can give ppl wat the want because I am the customer I know this business on a personal level.
So I need help just please answer some of my question and add if you need

1)What factors make hair a high quality?
2)What do you want in virgin hair ?
3)] Prices are not a factor for some but I'm trying sell grade a virgin Indian for a affordable price
If the hair was the best you ever had would you pay
16in 100.00 us
18in 120.00 us
20in. 130.00u
22in 140.00us
24in. 150.00us
And that's wavy and straight and for curly 5.00more on each length?
4) what would make you return to the same company ?
5) what kind of deals would you like to be offered ?

Ok ladies if you took the time to read this thanks for your help

I'm in college and a lot of the girls that do sew ins on campus are selling " virgin brazilian hair" and i'm like where did YOU get these bundles. They actually look good. lol I'm at a point where I don't want bss hair and I don't feeling going with a hit or miss cv vendor. I might end up getting hair from one of my classmates smh.

The whole hair industry is slipping, all thanks to YouTube. The supply can't keep up with the demand, so we're seeing inconsistencies from the lowest end of BSS to the highest end, as people are complaining about the quality of brands like Bohyme and Bobby Boss.  Once the "virgin" quality hair was advertised and people became aware of Ali and AliE, all these independent hair "companies" formed the ENTIRE hair game went into the toilet. The prices for the best quality actual virgin hair skyrocketed. I'm beginning to think the only way to get best quality hair is to ask people I encounter if I can cut it off their heads.

ETA:  I'm also living in a college town and I also noticed an upward trend in the HAIR quality of most of these girls walking around. I can see they're not wearing regular BSS, and they've learned to ombre it and everything. Too bad they haven't quite learned about closures. I see a lot of short, brittle, heat damaged, leave-outs on top of some decent looking hair.

Ok. first off, am on a trip right now in asia, and i will like to add a bit

1. All the big chinese factories [not the small ones, at all] are very worriedand think there is some sh*tty crisis going on in the US as their sales have really slipped into the dept of the ground...hehehe.

***My explanation to them was...."there is no crisis when it comes to hair business. Just that the end users [mostly we african americans] are no longer buying such hair qualities that their biggesst customers [mostly Korean BSS Hair distributors] are selling" and "we would rather promote black businesses now, where we can get these higher grade hair quality'.

2. The prices of virgin hair have sky rocketed, and i must say that in China, the virgin hair market is divided in different segments and categories.

1. The manufacturer [hair collectors and processors and distributors]
2. The trading companies [processors and traders]
3. The sub trading companies.

Most of the companies BHMers deal with are on segment 2 and 3. Qingdao houses most of the segment 2 companies, and you are ricking finding real hair trully, but most non remy [fallen] hair sold as remy. There is a decuticling method of removing the cuticles, and then this hair material is mostly sold to qingdao factories by the hair collectors in segment 1.
**** Trust me, all indian hair in china is non remy [fallen hair] believe it or not. but thats what it is. And if you are lucky to buy virgin hair from qingdao or guangzhou, then you are buying hair from multiple donors.

In qingdao, there are also many segment 3 companies, but ALL guangzhou vendores are segment 3 and buy the lowest quality hair from qingdao. Most of the guangzhou vendors dont sell 100g pieces, the sell 85g, and always make sure the hair is bundled with the black rrubber tie, that adds about 5g to the bundle. All guangzhou vendors buy hair with thin ends. There is no 1 hair factory in guangzhou.

The companies in segment 1, are mostly hair collectors, that usually will hackle the hairs and bundle in huge double drawns [made up of multiple donors hair] and sold to qingdao factories. But of recent segment 1 companies have started processing hairs [making into wefts, and extensions].

**************************************************************************

Xuchang is another ball game where low quality, synthetic, mixed hair or low quality remy hair is supplied. These factories are the ones most hit by the above so called assumed crisis. Infact most of the biggest factories here are owned by Koreans or partly owned.
*****************************************************************

Just my 2 cents.

***Note: I now know the suppliers for 2 popular AVs, amongst others too

I have to disagree with you there...
The quality of BSS/Indian Remy hair is not going to get any better...

If anything you'll just see the "better strands" of Indian Remy be sold at a DELUXE (practically virgin hair price point) which is already being done by some companies. Indian Remy Hair sold in fancy boxes with super high prices.

I see the change definitely I used to be the one out of all my friends dropping bread on hair now they have caught on and I'm glad but they try to tell me where to buy hair i have to be like

The problem is they don't know how to care for it. and don't get me started on this "ombre" AKA Dip Dye in bleach. If I see one more half black then the bottom is blonde called ombre im going to die, it's supposed to FADE through several shades

Thank you for the info, lady! If all this is true, I suppose this info will provide info to help all of our AliE shopping. You're probably a reseller, (I apologize for my assumption, if you're not) but even if you are, and don't mind sharing any of the Segment 1 companies you've come across while over there in my PM box, I'd greatly appreciate it! Big smile

i see that all the time!!! Im in college right now and alot of these girls will pay $200+plus for their virgin hair but it does not blend at all their real hair is dry. The few girls i have seen with closures the bleaching is off. I feel like nobody knows how to blend their hair either.

Ive actually talked to a few and asked how do they keep up with their hair.... ive gotten
dont wash it Stern Smile
no body deep conditions their hair or the weave
just put their "Moroccan oil" on it........ yes the Moroccan oil from walmart
ive even asked if they do protein treatments and they look at me crazy!

Its like buying a Mercedes Benz and not ever getting an oil change. It doesn't matter how much money you paid for the car/hair if you don't keep up with it it will NOT WORK.

wow! first off @mincefille, thanks for the information! very interesting stuff!

and i agree with people said about the college thing, i'm a junior i feel like the whole "virgin hair" thing popped over night. it's weird... i know of two girls selling hair on my campus that actually looks pretty legit! i wonder who their vendor is...

but one of them has ATROCIOUS prices though, i feel bad for all the people they sucker into buy from them :p they don't know that they can get it much cheaper.
