Curls Whipped
I love this product b/c it moisturizes without making your hair goopy. Your hair is touchable and bouncy. This works great for twist outs and braid outs, etc. It has a nice amount of hold and if you use it with a touch of ecostyler it wont flake up like other heavy butter products. The smell is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I am not exaggerating. I get some good D every time I use this. Not to be vulgar but...
Oh I am a very dry very coarse 4a/b.
ETA: I give it a 4.5. I would give it a 5 but you have to be very heavy handed with it if you have my hair. And its expensive. About $16.

Qhemet Biologics Alma and Olive Heavy Cream
Sometimes I feel like the only person that will be honest about this product. Everyone on LHCF swears this stuff is like the Lord's gift to dry hair. Lemme just tell you. I have tried on several occasions to make this stuff work, b/c its expensive as hell. And it just doesn't! My friend has 4c/z hair... All kink no curl, dry, fragile, etc. I gave it to her to use b/c it kept overmoisturizing my hair. She said, and I saw this in person at hair school, that her hair got really really wet and slippery, and then 2 hours later it was back to normal. I used it in every way possible. And I always use my moisturizers on clarified and conditioned hair so i can see how they work. On 2nd day hair, on 1st day hair, as a moisturizer... U name it, I did it. And i hate the smell. Sorry I just don't like this stuff.
It gets a 2 from me. B/c one time my hair was soft. Once.

FHI Hot Sauce
I love this stuff. It can be used before blow drying, after blow drying... I mean really u should use it during your whole heat process. My hair is NOT heat trained but curl waxes cause me heat damage. I use this with my jose aber flat iron. Works like a charm! Smells good too. I give it a 4 because its like $14 for such a teeny bottle at the beauty supply store. However, you can get a big bottle for cheap on amazon. Always go to amazon. This is my starting point hair after I cut off all my color damage 2 years ago, but the only pic I have after I used hot sauce.

Name of product: V05 Conditioner (Passionfruit smoothie, anti breakage, and free me freesia) Hair texture/type: Coils ranging from tiny (pen spring) to large (sharpie). Basically, Type 4. How did you use the product: 1) Saturate my dry hair with it and detangle. Works perfectly for detangling because it has just enough water to separate the hair and enough slip and weight to keep it from drawing up. Makes combing and removing shed hair super easy. 2) Use a moderate amount on my wet hair to moisturize after washing. Provides lasting moisture that doesn't have to be reapplied. If you use too much it may make the hair a little hard and show a white residue. Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): Price-5 Smell-3...Sometimes they're nice and sometimes they are overwhelming and give me a headache. Size-5 (especially considering the price) Accessibility-5...I can get them anywhere which is great because when I fly I can just buy a new bottle at my destination.

Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Spray
This heat protectant is awesome if you are on a budget. Its about $10 for an 8 oz bottle at my BSS. I like this stuff for after blow drying to flat iron. On most of my clients at Hair school I notice that it doesn't provide enough moisture for a "healthy" blow dry. I use this at hair school b/c I'm not getting paid there and its nice and cheap. My paying clients get the FHI Hot Sauce or Redken Heat Glide. Just spray a light amount on your blow dried hair. There will be no heat damage if you use your flat iron properly, and your hair will be swingin! It smells nice too. And you can be heavy or light handed with this one. It doesn't come off on your hands, your hair is touchable, and when the style is over it can be used as an oil sheen. I LOVE this stuff! I give it a 4 b/c the ingredients aren't as great as more expensive products, and I wouldn't recommend using it before the blow dry. But it is cost efficient. I think when I used this in college it lasted me a whole year. This was of course before I discovered salon products and i became a hair snob

So it's too moisturizing? I really want to get this for my ends because
they are always dry and brittle no matter what! I got the burdock root
butter cream because the website suggested it for 3c hair. It's good and
moisturizing but i feel like it's not quite enough for my ends. The
fact that you're complaining about it being over moisturizing makes me
wanna get it! lol

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration
I'd give it a 4.5 in terms of moisturirzing my hair. It would proabably leave my hair silikier but I have hard water in my area. Anyway, the shampoo isnt' drying and the conditioner leaves my hair quite soft. It's about £4 or something

Great!
Name of product: Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil REPLENISHING CONDITIONER
Hair texture/type: 4a a little 3c
How did you use the product: On dampened hair, I put about a 1/4 cup or
so throughout my hair and cover with a plastic cap for a few hours.
Leaving it on overnight works best.
Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): 5. My hair soaks this
conditioner which is rare. It leaves my hair very soft. Plus it smells
good.

Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Split End Protector
Hair texture/type: 3c with some 3b How did you use the product: You can apply it to wet hair or dry hair. I usually apply it to my hair after washing it and then braid it up and maybe seal with an oil. When I take out my braids, my hair is extra soft. I have also used this to moisturize my ends, it does a great job. Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):
This is one of the best leave ins that have worked for my hair. I never thought a cheap drugstore brand would work so well. I can honestly say this worked better on my hair than a lot of expensive salon brands I have tried and it's much cheaper. It makes my hair really easy to comb through and leaves it soft and silky. It also smells really good! Like raspberries.

Aussie Moist Conditioner
I would rate it 6 stars if I could . I love this product. It's great for both the relaxed and natural portions of my hair. it has great definition, hold and moisture for my curls. it also helps a lot with detangling. I use it every single day and I can't imagine ever replacing it with another leave in.
ETA: I recently BC'd and I still use this product daily. I love it =)

Suave Almond & Shea Butter Shampoo & Conditioner
Hair texture/type: 3C How did you use the product: cowash or leave in (but mostly cowash) Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):
I'll give both the shampoo & conditioner 4 stars. The shampoo isn't sulfate free (it only has sodium laureth sulfate, not sodium lauryl sulfate) but it's not drying either. It cleans my hair without leaving it too clean. It's a great moisturizing shampoo.
The conditioner is great! It's good for detangling and it's very moisturizing. I like to use it as a cowash because it makes detangling a breeze. I also like to use it whenever I set my hair in a braid/twist out because it's moisturizing but not too heavy.
they're really cheap too!

Name of product:Curl Activating Shea Butter Shampoo, Curl Activating Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner, Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Treatment

Hair texture/type: 4a/b/c How did you use the product:
I purchased these items as a birthday gift to myself. I used the shampoo as directed. I should mention that the shampoo is very concentrated so I didn't have to use as much. There was some lather but I have hard water. I rinse it out as much as I can and I must say that it does leave behind residue but that is to be expected.
Then I followed it up with the deep conditioner. Now I have to mention that I am transitioning from a relaxer, so my hair is a bit on the dry side and the weather is exacerbating the issue. I took a healthy dollop and massage it through my hair. It detangled my hair a little bit but I had to be extra gentle with my hair when detangling. I left it in my hair for about 30 minutes (lost track of time) and rinse thoroughly.
Then I applied the leave-in conditioner. That was a big mistake on my part. It left my hair greasy as hell. My hair looked okay but damn it was dripping down my face. Next time I will omit the leave-in when using the deep conditioner. The smell of the product was pleasant, smells like nougat or some kind of fruit but to me it is faint. Anyways I feel that these products will last me a good six months since the shampoo and leave in will last me six months. The deep conditioner will last me three - to six months if I use it once a month. I would not recommend the deep conditioner in the summer but in the winter it has possibilities.
Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): I give it a 3.5 but that is my fault that I was heavy handed. I need to use as less as possible since this stuff is heavyt. Not much in the detangling department but it is alright.
I purchased these at Whole Food.

Name of Products: Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Mask, SHea Moisture Fortifying conditioner, Suave Almond and Shea Conditioner, Kemi SHea Butter Pomade.
//
I just LOVE this deep treatment. It's a little runny but boy does it pack a moisturizing/detangling/Slippsy punch! Great Stuff!
I prefer the Deep treatment much better but this has nice moisture and it's good as a leave-in treatment.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B002VA4FXU/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=3760911&s=beauty" rel="nofollow"> My hair used to HATE Suave Products! This one has changed my mind! One of the Best Drug Store conditioner so far (other than Tresemme)
kemi Shea Butter Pomade has given me the most defined twistouts to date...I have to be careful with it because it can easily cause a lot of buildup but when used properly its really nice.

Sabino Moisture Block (Original Formula)
Hair texture/type: 3C How did you use the product: serum on straightened hair Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):
I just bought Sabino Moisture Block and I love it! I only roller set and flat ironed on 280 degrees and the results have been great! Usually I can only leave my hair straightened for 1-2 days before it starts getting puffy and reverts. It is now day 5 and my hair is still straight. This product didn't make my hair greasy either. I've been outdoors for hours every day with my straightened hair out and it is still pin straight (especially the roots!) without retouching with the flat iron daily. You don't have to use a lot of the product for it to work and the best part is I only paid $10.00 (including shipping).
I love this product - 5 stars!

Tresemme Naturals Nourishing moisture conditioner Hair texture/type: 4a How did you use the product: as a rinse out conditioner
Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):5 this is the best conditioner ive used EVER. it gives great slip and makes my hair turn into butter. i never had a drugstore conditioner do this and i got it cheap on sale for $4. it doesnt work well as a leave in but then again thats the reason it is a rinse out.
Jamaican Mango and lime cactus leave in Hair texture/type: 4a How did you use the product: as a leave in by itself and under gel Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):4. the leave in works great. i remember this stuff being raved on hair boards because it was cheap and had quality ingredients. this line has changed the ingredient to include alot of crap unfortunatly. back in the day this actually had cactus juice and extracts in it. now it has mineral oil and propylene glycol. it works well for me nevertheless. and is cheap and easy to find. it also smells like baby powder.
Jamaican Mango lime Cream wax Hair texture/type:4a How did you use the product:styler Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):4 like the other product in the line the ingredients make me say "what crappened?" the the results are great. gives BLANG and hold. i have never seen my hair so shiny while dry since i started using this stuff. a litle goes a long way and it smells great like citrus candy.
Apex Pressing oil Hair texture/type:4a How did you use the product:straightening Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):5 this stuff really works. i was worried i would have lifeless greasy hair when i used this stuff and even though i was a bit heavy handed my hair still was bouncy and swangy. my hair got very straight and survied a 98 degree temperatures with minimal reversion.it has no smell and doesnt snap crackle and pop when heat is applied.

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Name of product: Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie Hair texture/type: 3c/4a How did you use the product: I use it to moisturize when I twist my hair at night. I used it on wet hair but I think I prefer it on dry hair. Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): I just expected it to moisturize but since the product is a bit thick it really helped clump the hair and make it very soft. My only advice is that if you get heavy handed ::ahem:: you can end up with a little residue.

Name of product: jane carter's nourish and shine Hair texture/type: thick 4a/4b (mostly 4b) How did you use the product: as a moisturizer (and on freshly washed/conditioned hair) Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): 5
Rationale: the reason why I love this product is because it is ridiculously moisturizing. it leaves my hair soft and even a week after using it (and not being heavy handed with it), my hair still feels moisturized. thir product is incredibly good. if you have thick hair, you hair will love you for using this product.

oh sh!t ....
this stupid site .... i actually typed a response only to keep getting error messages
but ummm yeah ....
I'll get this out the way - it does contain mineral oil .... i'm not against it, but i thought i'd throw it out there for those that are
my hair is usually okay with mineral oil too but for some reason, my hair felt AWFUL after i used this stuff. it's not a pudding consistency like the Miss Jessie's .... it's definitely more of a cream ....
IT DOESN'T MOISTURIZE IT DOESN'T HOLD IT WON'T SLICK BACK SH!T
and NO - it didn't give my hair any type of shine
the whole freakin label is a lie and i wish i never purchased it
i'm actually mad at myself because i have a pretty decent track record with my purchases, the majority of stuff i have works well or i can make it work somehow .... but not this - i used it once and it's still sitting in my closet LoL

oh yeah - and it's definitely NOT a gel
i know that ORS Loc & Twist Gel doesn't feel like a traditional gel (it's more of a custard) but this stuff .... i've never used in a twist out, but i have no clue how it could actually hold anything

Organix Anti-Breakage Serum
This is the only serum that has made my hair super super super soft with great shine! It's hard to keep my hands out of my hair whenever I use this stuff. It's PERFECT for roller setting - my hair is unbelievably soft and lightweight whenever I roller set with it. It has light protein in it, but it works fine on my protein-sensitive relaxed ends (transitioning). It smells great too!

Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier: This stuff is the truth for my hair. I used this along with Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Smoothie and some random gel to do some sloppy two strand twist and my hair dried soft and manageable. I am going to purchase the bottle in bulk. Thank goodness a local CVS store carries this spray. I like the fact that a little goes a long way.
UPDATE: This is a good product but I cannot use it during the winter. This is a 3.5 in my book nonetheless.

Tigi Moisture Maniac is one of my staple products. I use the con-only method so the smell tends to stick which is awesome because it smells really yummy. I got the really big bottle at Ross for 8.99.

Name of product: Eco styling gel- olive oil Hair texture/type: 3c/4a How did you use the product:For smoothing the front of my hair for wash and gos and for shingling. Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): 4.5
Pros:
It works very well for smoothing hair down. I tried shingling for the
first time with this gel and it worked very well for controlling frizz.
My hair also had a little hang time which was something I have not seen
in months. I was able to get 3 days out of it before I finally decided
to co wash it out.
Cons: I put too much in and looked like I had a hat on. It looked like this:

minus the white guy with the bad tan. So less is more. lol

Hair Type: 3c/4a
How did you use the product: I use this product to co wash my hair and to detangle.
Overall Satisifcation (Scale 1 to 5): 5
Pros: This conditioner has major slip and makes detangling my hair a dream. The fragrance is light which is a plus for me because I am sensitive to smell. It is also cone-free and works great as a deep conditioner.
Cons: The Price $8.99 @ Target. But, you can find bottle at your local Ross, TJ Maxx for $2.99-3.99 . I buy them all up so you might have a problem finding some bottles in So. Cal.

How do you use this product: I use as deep conditioner and sometimes as a leave-in on my ends.
Overall Satisifaction (Scale 1 to 5): 4
Pros: I love love this conditioner to deep condition because they ingredients are excellent and it a cone-free product. It will leave you hair with great sheen and lots of body. Works well as leave in ..
Cons: The price $8.00 per 8.4 oz but I find it for about $3.00 per bottle Ross ir TJ Maxx. Also, it does not have enough slip to be a really good cowash conditioner or detangler.

How do you use this product: As a deep conditioner with emphasis on my ends.
Overall Satisfaction (Scal 1 to 5) : 3.5
Pros: Keratin Conditioner contains nutrients that help repair hair, enhance elasticity, strengthen, and reduce breakage. Infused with Balsam, Panthenol and Vitamin E, this repair formula will give your hair renewed inner strength for greater elasticity, reduced breakage and a natural, healthy bounce.
Cons: I am still testing this out so this review is a bit premature. But, it makes my hair feel a bit wirey after I use it.

This product made my hair very easy to detangle after shampooing. A little bit went a long way so I only had to use a dab on my entire head. My overall experience was that it was very hydrating, smoothing and all around great. My only complaint was that my hair was weighed down afterward and lacked body. But it definitely added shine and managibility.

LOL but you know those are the main people her products work on without unless you have a chemical service .... but the process they use works for me, it's just time consuming LoL .... when I went to Urbanbella Salon in Atlanta, that's basically what they did, i just figure you could probably do the same with other products
The part where she combed through the hair to define it is similar to what I've done with my denman for definition in the past
there was another one where they streched it with a blow dryer .... unless that was a different style LoL

Hair Type: 4a/b/c/d, transistioning, dry, porous
I purchased this locally *quelle surprise* at TJ Maxx in the Chicagoland area. I purchased two jars and was elated to try it out. After I shampooed my hair, I slathered this conditioner from root to tip, and with my conditioner cap that has seen better days, I sat under a warm dryer for about 15 minutes. Rinse out was okay but my hair felt weird. Maybe it is because I don't flat iron my hair at all but this conditioner made my hair feel coated. I tried mixing some oils like castor oil and EVOO but still my hair felt like it was dipped in wax.
I used this conditioner about three times before junking it. I don't think it is for natural/transistioning hair types that doesn't use heat styling tools at all. My hair felt coated like it was covered in cheap wax candles, even those rinky birthday candles felt softer than this. I would have been better off melting some crayons and apply it in my hair, at least I would have some color and my hair would have been softer. I don't know what I will do with the opened remainder but the unopened jar is going on eBay.
Pros: smelled nice, might be better suited for relaxed or heat trained/damaged hair Cons: left hair coated, didn't moisturize, made hair hard to detangle, not readily available in the Midwest unless you purchase it online
UPDATE: This is a 0 out of 5 stars on my natural hair but mind you I do not flat iron or use any kind of heat in my hair.

Hair type: 4a/b/c/d, transitioning, dry and porous
I purchased this gel because I wanted to do a twist out style. The proteins in the gel did not scare me since I tend to mix a leave in cream because I wanted a softer hold. I know I have Shea Moisture curl & hold smoothie but it doesn't provide enough hold, ya know?
In short this is a good hair gel, a bit drying but if if I use a creamy moisturizer or leave-in, my hair will lay down. Especially with a scarf. Honestly I am not particular when it comes to hair gels. Most of them work the same on my hair. For example, if I apply this gel or any gel on my damp hair, my hair becomes more defined with waves, kinks, curls and coils. Yeah my hair has a variety of texture but the edges and nape area tends to be more of a tighter curl/coil pattern. That really doesn't bother me but the dryness drives me nuts. I would repurchase this again but I want to try the olive oil version next and maybe revisit the clear gel with the sparkle lites again. Maybe in the future I will try the Long Aid activator gel and the Eco Styler olive oil gel.
Pros: smells nice, cheap, doesn't take much to style my hair, no flakes since using it Cons: a bit drying, it's brown
UPDATE: This is about a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I might repurchase.

Hair type: 4a/b/c/d, transitioning, dry and porous
I had this gel in my stash for some time. It was at the Dollar Tree
and it came in a nice size, about 4 or 8 ounces. I believe I seen
Chicoro or Chiroco reviewed this years ago from her trip to Mexico.
Now I realize that we do not share the same hair texture but I was just
geeked to see this gel in the US.
I usually apply this gel on damp hair. Yes it defines the hair texture
a lot but for me it made my hair a bit too hard for my taste when used
on just damp hair alone, so I would apply an oil moisturizer or leave
in under the gel and the gel plays nice with either. I would
repurchase if I would run out but that is unlikely since I rarely use
this gel as of late. I think I would designate as my summertime gel
and the brown gel (Fantasia IC above) as my winter gel. Don't ask me
why the brown gets the honor as my winter gel since it is loaded with
"bad proteins" but for some reason I like that brown gel, save the
color.
Pros: smells like apples and happiness, cheap, available at the Dollar
Tree, plays nice with moisturizers and leave-ins that I use.
Cons: too drying when used alone, needs a cream buddy or else it is banished to the closet
UPDATE: This is a 3 out of 5 stars. I will use this solely to lay down my hair when I wear it out. That is it. No shingling with this stuff, too strong.

Hair type: 4a/b/c/d, transitioning, dry and porous
I had this bottle for over a month and decided to do a review. In short I would give it three stars out of five. It does moisturize, but only for a day on my hair. Then I have to reapply daily. After three days my hair would be a weird combo of oily and sticky but dry, if that makes sense. It doesn't play nice with other oils in my hair. It does have cones hence it could be the reason why my hair is dry and also lanolin, which could explain why my hair felt sticky and oily. I see why I avoid those ingredients, but I thought I was being an tight-a$$ about it. Not a bad product but just incompatible with my hair type. I will gift this to my mom.
Pros: Does detangle hair wet/dry, moisturize, cheap, cute color Cons: moisturizing properties are short term, builds up quickly, has silicones and lanolin (not agreeable with my hair), doesn't play nice with certain products
UPDATE: I would rate this as a two out of five stars. The longer I use it, the worse my hair's condition becomes.

I tried some Mozeke Carrot protein mask and the Moisturizing hair Mask. While both of these products smelled incredible, they did nothing for my natural 4b hair, in fact I think they made my hair harder to detangle if that makes any sense. THey were moisturizing but provided zero slip or softness. I won't be repurchasing it again. Too bad b/c that stuff is intoxicating. I'll be trying some more products in the pj graveyard and I have plenty of reviews to give so stay tuned.

Proclaim Natural 7 Argan Oil

I couldn't find the One & Only Argan oil at Sally's so I gave this a try & my 4a hair loves it :-)
I add it to my conditioner, I put it in my TJ Protective Bodifying Mist and sprayed it on, then sealed and my twist out is so soft and bouncy. Plus it feels nice on my skin as well
I just wish it came in a bigger bottle LoL

SheaMoisture Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner

Love it :-)
It's a leave in or rinse out conditioner .... I use it on my twists at night and it keeps my hair super soft, especially after i seal with crisco. I believe it has sea kelp, argan oil, and a couple other things as well. The price is kinda high but you don't need a lot and I don't even really need to apply it daily - so it'll last a minute.
idk why it says conditioning milk, but uh yeah - i couldn't find another pic LoL

Hair type: In the fours, dry and porous
I purchased this at AJ Wright or one of its sister stores. It was about 3 bucks for a 16 ounce jar. I had mixed results with Dom conditioners and now that I am transitioning I find that a number of Dom conditioners did not play nice with my hair, well the ones I had in my possession. I did a deep conditioning treatment with this and oh my goodness, talk about soft hair. It detangled my hair and added some much needed moisture to it. It also plays nice when I "frankening" it when I added some honey and castor oil/olive oil blend. This boosted its moisture properties. What I like about this conditioner is that it doesn't appear to have silicones, no lanolin and dare I say no parabens? I plan to buy the 56 ounce of this conditioner online because it is that good to my hair.
Pros: One Dom conditioner that agrees with my natural hair, agreeable scent (to me), gets fluffy when it comes into contact with water, plays nice with oils and humectants when frankening it, cheap.
Con: No local stores carries it, the scent can be cloying after a while.
UPDATE: This is a five out five in my book. This is a definite repurchase.

For those who are trying to smooth down their hair, this is the brush your need. I am so tardy to the party if this was raved about but damn where has this brush been in my life? Previously I thought this pocket brush was used in shampooing only and I had a brush that was somewhat similar but I had limited success with them. I did not know you can use this on "dry" hair. With some pomade, this brush finally smoothed down my edges and I look presentable. Damn I feel like a natural born idiot for not picking up this brush. So much gel and pomade I used to lay down my hair. Plus it is cheap as fcuk. The highest I have seen it is a dollar and frankly that is 40 cents overcharge. The quality is not the best but for something that cost a nickel at most to make, I don't expect it to last a life time.
Pros: Brush down my edges, cheap, easily available Cons: poor quality since there is a tear in the handle in mine
UPDATE: This is a three out of a five stars. I wish it wasn't so flimsy.

I bought Black n Sassy Style Smoother because I needed something to lay my edges down while wearing my half wig. The texture was tacky and thicker than Elasta QP Glaze, which I guess is a good thing. I applied it on my edges and smoothed it down with a brush. I didn't tie my hair down since I was pressed for time. Initially my edges looked smooth but 15 minutes later, it puffed up. Maybe if I applied it at night and tied it down, I would have better results. But I am willing to give it a chance.
Pros: Easily found, smells nice, washes out easily Cons: Contains glycerin, which means my hair will puff up in humid weather
UPDATE: This is a two out of five stars. Will not purchase and found something better.

Even though I'm rocking Crochet Twists, the hair in the back is loose (braided ends) so I've been moisturizing with some products still. Here are a few reviews;
1. BeeMine Luscious moisturizer--got a sample of this, I was so excited to try it out and lets just say it was a big letdown! I really wanted to like this stuff but I knew going in that my hair and coconut oil does not mix! This product has coconut oil and it moisturized my hair for a few minutes and then it felt dry dry dry! Even after a few hows after I moisturized and sealed with a oil or a heavy butter my hair was still DRY! Fail!
2. BeeMine Juicy Spray-Mediocre at best, it was just like spraying water in my hair and then it made my hair sticky and gummy after awhile...Again disapointed.
3. Hollywood Beauty Smoothing Cream with Argan OIl from Morrocco---O.M.G. I this! Where have this been all my life! I kid you not this stuff makes my hair feel silky smooth and it moisturizes my color treated hair without it being greasy! I'm surprized no one has raved about this. Now the ingredients aren't so wholesome (for ingredients freak) but it does contain some good stuff. It has Argan oil, Keratin and a bunch of other good stuff. It smells like a yummy tropical fruit. Now this is kinda expensive since Hollywood Beauty tends to sell cheaper priced items but $12 for 12oz is alright with me. It actually ends up costing less than BeeMine products and I'm so glad I can get it locally. I'm going to try the deep conditioner once I takeout these braids.

4. MegaCare Raw Shea Butter OIl---Yes I love these little vials of oils. They are about .99 but the ingredients are great, no mineral oils, parabens, petroleum...just pure natural oils. This one contains Wheat Germ Oil (natural ceramide) and Macadamia oil (wonderful skin moisturizer that mimics your own natural oils). Love these oils, I used it to seal in my Hollywood Beauty Moisturizer and my hair is in heaven! I also like the Grapeseed, Tea Tree and Carrot oils that this line carries. I only wished that they sold them in larger sized containers.

New score 3.5 this stuff feels great while its in my hair but once its rinses and drying it gives my hair an odd feeling. maybe its because my hair is not coated in cones but it makes my hair feel really fluffy and unpredictable.DO NOT WANT. its not good to leave in either so it has been sitting in my basket for a while.i am gonna try and mix it up with other stuff and see if i can use it up since the bottle is so big. Jamaican Mango and lime cactus leave in Hair texture/type: 4a How did you use the product: as a leave in by itself and under gel Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):4. the leave in works great. i remember this stuff being raved on hair boards because it was cheap and had quality ingredients. this line has changed the ingredient to include alot of crap unfortunately. back in the day this actually had cactus juice and extracts in it. now it has mineral oil and propylene glycol. it works well for me nevertheless. and is cheap and easy to find. it also smells like baby powder.
new score 1.5-after experimenting with this it does leave me clumps with gel. this is an automatic fail! for all of those crap ingredients and it doesn't even work how i want it to! i plan on giving it away!
Jamaican Mango and lime creme locking wax

Hair texture/type:4a How did you use the product:styler Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):4 like the other product in the line the ingredients make me say "what crappened?" the the results are great. gives BLANG and hold. i have never seen my hair so shiny while dry since i started using this stuff. a litle goes a long way and it smells great like citrus candy. new score 3-works ok. i am looking for something less waxy to hold my twist outs. i havent found something that gives comparable shine though.
Apex Pressing oil Hair texture/type:4a How did you use the product:straightening Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):5 this stuff really works. i was worried i would have lifeless greasy hair when i used this stuff and even though i was a bit heavy handed my hair still was bouncy and swangy. my hair got very straight and survived a 98 degree temperatures with minimal reversion.it has no smell and doesnt snap crackle and pop when heat is applied.
still a 5

Once.

OH LAWD! this is heaven in a bottle. now that i have a cheap source of this i will NEVA EVA EVA EVA EVA EVA EVA stray from it again. i have been using this since last year. i have been out of it for about 6 months. im so glad i finally found a reasonably priced vendor. these are pics of my old bottles. this is the only conditioner that makes my hair do what i want it to on a consistent basis
it does take a little adjusting to to get it right. for me it needs to sit on my hair for an hour before i can do the final style. it could be because of my hair texture.(it takes a long time to absorb product)but dont let the learning curve fool you into thinking its not working right. this is the only thick conditioner that i can leave in my hair that gives me the following: hair that i can re-manipulate without wetting smooth synchronized waves shiny defined curls smells good without being overbearing or annoying over time NO flakes NO white/grey build up NOT Greasy NOT sticky

Bee Mine Bee*U*Ti*Ful Deep conditioner---again there was nothing beautiful about my experience with this deep conditioner. So sad but kinda glad b/c her stuff is expensive. I used as directed it made my hair kinda soft but it was difficult to detangle my hair after being in braids for 4 weeks. I immediately slapped some Suave Almond and SHea and my hair was a dream to detangle. I give this one a 2 out of 5 stars. Obviously I won't repurchase this but I will be picking up some more Suave Professionals in Rosemary Mint. BTW Anyone use the Rosemary Mint conditioner and if so what was your result?
HollyWood Beauty Argan Oil Leave-in--I did a review before, I would but this cream on the ends of my cornrows and it kept my ends moist. I tried it on all of my hair and again I was impressed, kept my hair soft w/o greasiness, not the best slip but still good. I sealed with some oils and my hair has been soft. I give this a 4 out of 5 because I wish it had more slip. Good product, I will repurchase.

i just finished using my big bottle of it last night, lol. the conditioner is kind of runny and has good slip. i have to mix it with olive oil to get a thicker consistency but it's great for cowashing, light/regular detangling (not enough slip for heavy duty detangling) or just regular conditioning. i would not recommend it for deep conditioning unless it was mixed a heavier conditioner.
it's worth it just for the scent, though. i love the smell! it's very strong and stays in the hair for a while but it is refreshing/pleasant. if you need to tone it down, adding oils helps.
HTH!

can anyone suggest a product that can used for twisting that won't create a greasy twist out? i usually use beeswax which is great for twist outs on twists have been worn for like two to three weeks but it's too heavy for next day twist outs, which i want to try next.
product review!
product: herbal essences 'none of your frizzness' smoothing leave-in creme hair type: 4a/b with a touch of 3c stars: 3/5
disclaimer: i mixed this with water and oils to use on my yarn braids but i did use this full-strength on my edges.
i didn't care for the scent (mandarin orange) and it didn't keep my hair moisturized for more than a day or two even with sealing afterward. my 3c hair did okay with it, though. so looser textures might want to check this out. it did calm my frizziness a little.

Wow! Thanks for the big contribution prettychic.
Here's my review of this product

Name of product: PRO-LINE COMB-THRU LITE CREME MOISTURIZER
Hair texture/type: 4a/3c and 4b(mama CC's hair lol)
How did you use the product: I dampened my hair with a spray bottle
and then applied a small amount on my fingers before smoothing it over
the small section I intended to twist. Then I let put on a satin cap. I
untwisted the next day for a twist out style and later a fro.
Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): 5! I love it. It makes my
hair feel so soft and kept the frizz factor low when I untwisted. Plus
it is cheap! $2. It is definitely a staple this season in my house.

^Give it a shot napp! It's only $2. The only drawback is that you will have to clarify about every 2wks because you get build up on the scalp. But I needed something to soften my twistouts during the winter so it's the price I pay for cute hair.
Ally, as long as it is hair related, go ahead!

Ok, this is a wierd one but here goes. I've been using Crisco ...Yes Crisco shortening to Seal my hair and I love it! It's actually a ceramide but I just use a teeny bit, my hair does not smell like fried chicken, is not GREASY and STAYS Soft for days!!
One 'n Only Argan Oil Deep Treatment Mask--was very nice, made my hair very soft and lush feeling. Won't repurchase cause I have tons of deep treatments that are just as good or better.

For those who uses Crisco, would it be kosher if I used generic Crisco? I just want to get a small jar of this stuff just to try it out and so many Crisco jars comes in a big a$$ can, which I have no room for.

Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5):
4.8 only because it leaves a slight greasy feeling on my hands (not my
hair though).Combing my hair has never been easier. the price is nice
and it lasts me awhile. but thats prolly cause i don't comb my hair
every day.

Name of product: Darcy's Botanicals Eucalyptus Mint Herbal Scalp Conditioning Butter
Hair texture/type: 4a/b/c porous
How did you use the product: An alternative to Design Essential scalp conditioning (contains sulfur)
Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): 4.5 The reason why I rated it a 4.5 is because it contains tea tree oil but so far my scalp is behaving nicely. I don't know why some product that contains tea tree oil breaks me out but others don't. I guess it is the low percentage of tea tree oil. Currently my hair is in a weave install and I basically using this to treat my itchy scalp. When I apply it, it soothe my scalp and temporarily quelled the itchies. A little goes a long way so this small four ounce jar will last me for some time. I would buy it again, provided that Lysandra would make it without tea tree oil.
