my Hair is natural and has been all my life except a little color here and there over the years.

My hair was MBL in Jan 2008 and I went to get a trim and left the salon with neck length hair. I was pissed off and needless to say that was the last time that I visited a salon for anything.

By April 2008 my hair had grown to this length
my hair was resting a tad bit on my shoulders and a little past (NOT MUCH) fron and back. Sorry I don't have a picture the back.

So after much consideration I decided to start wearing Lf's for a while and I got tired of the adhesives and such and then I switched to Sew-ins.
I made alot of my own conditioners and hair butters and growth aides and I purchased a few as well.
It took me a while to figure out what my hair was liking and not liking while weaved up or not.

So here we are December 7th 2009 and here is my length today. Still natural, just pressed out for a length check, something I had NOT done in more than a year. It's still pretty reddish brown just not as red. I don't know why it looks so dark in these pictures. I am planning on coloring it with some henna to darken it all to an even brownish tone.

I will be sewing my HCCC back in really soon, I am taking a slight break for a couple of weeks just to see how my hair is going to act after being locked and hiding away for almost 2 years.

Clap Looking good. I'm hoping my hair will be close to this length by summertime! It's tough to let go of a weave. IMO it's just much more manageable than my natural hair.

Honestly, I don't have a regimen, I just do what I know and that is to keep my scalp moisturized and I only shampooed my hair once or twice a month with a clarifying shampoo.

I co-washed my hair 2-3 times a week with a conditioner that I made at home using ANY moisturizing conditioner mixed with olive oil and a few other essential oils.
I also made different gels and scalp moisturizers and growth aids (YOUTUBE IS A GREAT source of information for butters and conditioners)

My sew-ins were back to back, serious marathon installs for the last year and 9 months.

I have only had heat on my hair twice within the last 1yr9months and that was for 2 separate installs, which 1 install only stayed in 2 weeks and the other less than a week. Putting heat on my hair scares the living hell out of me. I am so afraid to mess up my curl pattern.

So after this last install was taken down I washed and conditioned and blow dried my hair using the cold setting (which was a real PITA to dry my hair), it took so dern long like almost 2 hours to dry it. I flat ironed it straight the next afternoon and took the pictures today.

ETA: I forgot to mention that I used Mega Tek for a while, MTG as well as Bee Mine growth serum(loved it) then after I used all these I started mixing my own

THANK YOU!!! I am going for longer I want at least 8-10 more inches.

I am going to TRY my best to keep the weave out until at least the last week of this month, but at the end of the month its back to weave city.

Honestly, I have said I am going to join XYZ challenge or this challenge or that challenge. BUT I never enter the challenges out of fear that I wont complete it. But for some reason I did not even realize that I did something over the course of almost 2 years that some of you ladies are doing in challenges and such.

So I NOW KNOW that I can commit to a Hide My Hair Challenge or a certain length challenge by the set goal date.

I am so inspired to get back to MBL that I am seriously looking at almost every section on BHM to find a challenge that has the guidelines that suits my needs for my hair care.

IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE LADIES OF BHM, I WOULD NOT OF BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS. I THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE HOST OF INFORMATION, ALL OF YOU PLAY A PART IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER. From the smallest tips about castor oil to the biggest tips about moisture.

Nope I have never worn a closure, I am afraid of them for some reason (scared it will levitate onver the top of my head) Nope I only worn sew-ins to get all of this growth. I would have anywhere from a .5-1" leave out for my perimeter and a smal 1x1 or 1x2" leaveout for horseshoe.

I will say that my nape leave out is no where near the length that the hair that was cornrowed up is, its about 3 inches shorter. But after Unique Monique explained some things to me, I understood why.
