I didn't know Miss Piggy was blackLOL

It depends on the shade of blonde and whether or not it goes with the person's skin tone.

I like this color on Mary J Blige

im a bit jaded in answering this...my mom is a blonde and it matches her skin tone beautifully... she can even wear platinum hair....but i think it all depends  on whether or not it matches your skin tone or not.

Posted By: nekamarie83

i've seen it run both ways:
beautiful (MJB) <------------> horrid (puffy's mom)

if i have to choose, i'll choose love 'em. however, it's not for everyone & you really have to get a shade that plays well off your skin tone.

It's all about shade and tone. I personally believe there is a blonde for everyone. Solid platinum blonde, however, is for no one.

lol @ miss piggy. never thought of her as black.

anywho, i think it all depends on the shade of blonde and how well it matches the person's skin tone. Blonde isn't for everyone though. Just because it works for one person doesn't mean it works for you and that's with anything

Some black women can do the dayum thing in blonde hair and some white women look horrible in blonde hair.
So what we have learned is one hair color doesnt suit everyone

I was just about to say that Carmen. Even for white folks, solid flat platinum blondes tends to look awful for most.

I thought this color was fantastic on Queen Latifah

On the other hand I did not like this color on Monica

Depends ... It should only be attempted by professionals because I can't tell you how many times Pookie went into the shop with that picture of Monica and came out with hair the color of Tang w/ Mango Tango highlights

Some people do it well, tends to be celebs with there own personal stylists, but chicks be walking down the road with jessica simpson blonde hair .. and it dont look good!!

You need to work on the undertones in the blonde and match it to your complexion!

I think it only look decent when done by a professional. I woudl like to think a stylist wouldnt want anyone walking out of the salon looking a hot mess.

Posted By: alynxx

It depends - I used to do blonde for years (and I mean years) and everybody said it suited my skintone. But I've grown tired of it now. But when I rock a honey blond curly weave with dark brown mixed in, all the boys love it.

MJB, Beyonce, Queen L, Faith Evans, Blu Cantrell and even Lil Kim (dare I say!) have all rocked some pretty blond styles at some point.

Then again, I hate Kim Kardash as a blond! I love her hair dark and exotic....

I agree..and it depends on the shade of blonde, some black girls how r light skinned think they can pull it off n get their hair way too light n then they look washed out

It depends, some black women can rock blonde hair and still look good whilst others will just look completely H.A.M. Also the shade of blonde should suit your complexion.

Yeah, I say it depends but I think short haired have a better chance of the blondle look. For instance Jada Pinkett Smith looked good with her short blonde hair and so does over exposed Amber Rose.

I could not get past this to read the rest of the responses LOLLOL. MERCY!

Short answer- skin tone, shade of blonde, and hairstyle should always be considered when rocking blonde hair. Some can pull it off (Mary J), some can't (Christina Millian).

There are so many different tones of blond out there! I do "Black blonds" a lot in my salon. I go by my clients skin tones and let them know that it is a process since most of my clients have relaxed hair and don't want to be running around with orange taco meat on the top of their heads. I think it is a high fashion fad right now. I like it and was considering doing a honey blond tone of myself.

Like many people said, it IMO has more to do with matching skin tone than anything else. Because brown-skinned women come in so man hues, just bc a woman is dark doesn't mean she can't look fab in blonde hair, just as every light-skinned woman is not going to automatically look good as a blonde. That said, just bc black women are predominantly brunette, it doesn't mean that every black woman can pull off jet black hair. It really has more to do with skin shade. So I don't really mind it when it looks good, I do have a problem with people ASSUMING that a brown-skinned woman has self-hate issues simply bc she chooses to go blonde. In most instances she is copying the likes of Mary J. Blige and not self-loathing over what it would be like to Paris Hilton or Christina Aguilera (and yes, these "blondes" were the example to further prove my point, and the next one too which is...) I also get annoyed that people make it about a particular race cornering the market on this particular hair color. Ok I'm done.

It depend on your undertone. I can't do blondes I haven't found a blonde that was flattering to me and I am not that interested in searching for the perfect blonde. Honey blonde makes me look greenish and sickly and I am not trying to go lighter than that.
