Thanks Ladyc, That is a great oil, I used it a few years back. I forgot to pick up some when I was at the BSS. I will be getting it on my next trip... I may add EVOO, this time though...(too lazy to go back to the store....LOL)

I just add extra virgin olive oil. I add 4 capfuls to my relaxer. I love the way my hair turns out. It always has a bit of curl after the process.

I have been using Alfaparf ph Color Olio in my relaxer for a few years now.  Its generally used with hair dyes but works just as well in relaxers.  I use Precise perm which is gentle on the scalp but this oil has chamomile to further prevent scalp irritation.

Can you add oil to ORS relaxer or does it already have oil?

doesn't the oil affect the results of the relaxer? just wondering. I think I might try it though, because after relaxers my hair and scalp is so darn dry.

I learn so much from you ladies! I followed the tip of adding oil to my ORS Lye in my last relaxer. It worked great. I choose Almond oil because I was low on EVOO and planned on cooking that evening    . So I figured, why not. IT WORKED WOMDERFULLY! I don't think it affected the efficacy of the relaxer. It gave me more time to work with and I beleive it was the reason my hair came out so conditioned afterward. Definitely will continue doing this.

I've never heard of Aphogee Essential Oils but I will keep a look out for this product. I add EVOO which works well.

I just bought some no-lye relaxer that I'm planning to use today or tomorrow and I'd like to try this method. My hair is ALWAYS very dry, so I hope this helps it retain at least a bit more moisture.
