Has anyone order hair from perfectlocks.com? I need hair IH.org is delay and perfect locks is cheaper than IH.com and rk.com. But you have to purchase at least 5lbs of hair to get the deal.

I would love opinions on EP Hair Softwear wefted vs. Wagman NB prem weft.  I was told on another forum that EP gets thier softwear from wagman, and therefor has the wagman weft...but i thought I heard something to the contrary.

I need some help, please
I have been trying to get some answers.
I am absolutely confused by all the initials.
IH...Indian hair?
RK...?
I just recently started weaving my hair.
I have had no luck with any of the hair i have been able to find here in South FL.
My last sew in was Milky Way Saga..Body Wave.
It was ok...much better than all the other ones i tried before.
I want a natural type curl, but nothing too silky.
I want it to blend with my, permed hair, well as much as it can anyway.

Help...Dazed and confused.

Do you have a pic of what you are trying to go for?

for those of you who do the weaves without leaving ANY hair out, how do you get it so that the track will not show?

Natural Curly Indian Hair often looks like a puff ball when you first get it. It must be shampooed and conditioned to look good. Carolee has a very good thread on Virgin natural Indian hair. I have a couple of pics of WAG NC before and after shampoo and conditioning. Here's the link: http://public.fotki.com/mahalodesigns/wagman-curly-indian-remy/

I wish i could help, i have never been able to get a good flat weave with a full weave. The last time i tried i kept redoing it for 3 days, i finally gave up and sawed my LF on and i now have a perfect flat weave/LF.

Hi HairGirl!

I think it is doable, but ideal to do this BEFORE the install to make sure that none of the relaxer gets caught under your tracks & gets to your scalp or braids to cause damage or breakage.  If you have to do this, just be careful.

I don't know much about Micro Lace so hopefully someone else will chime in!

What hair are you looking for in South Florida? I may be able to help you out with a BSS store if you are looking for a brand in particular.
If you are looking virgin indian hair in S. FL there is only one store in particular that sells hair and I have never purchased from them because there was a bad review for them. Try purchasing online from one of the vendors.

Does anyone know a good BSS in the Ft. Worth/HEB Area? I go to a stylist in Irving and usually buy my hair in one of the shops off Beltline Rd., but I'm trying to expand and see what else is out there. Thanks!

hi. I was wondering if anybody else has had the same problem as I have right now.
I have handtied wefts from remyhairtoday.com and after combing through the hair a few times I basically I could feel that something was wrong with my wefts  and had a friend look and the hair actually pulled through the top of  the weft.

Neither of us have ever heard of this happening or what to do, since I cant afford another install until the 5th of February.  I need advice....BADL Y!Thank you very much

its not bad for the hair if done properly and you maintain your natural hair (i've been wearing sew-ins back to back for the past 9 months and my hair is thick, healthy, and has grown tremedously)..but if you're doing back to back sew ins the same day as you get a full head relaxer, if your hair is weak and you're not treating the hair underneath, or if the braids/sewing are too tight then yes expect to get some damage

many people do it but you have to be extremely careful to not get relaxer underneath the weave...if the relaxer seeps under the tracks and you can't wash the relaxer out properly then you're gonna have a problem...if you're skilled enough to do it yourself then by all means go ahead but i would suggest if you're not to have someone help you do it or have it done professionally

the safest and bes thing is to have your leave out sectioned and relaxed before sewing it in

i can't vouch for remyhairtoday but if the hand tied wefts aren't well constructed they would need to be sealed prior to having them installed or else they will shed (i'm assuming by you saying pulling through the wefts they are shedding)..since they're already in your head then i would advise you be very gentle when combing/brushing...

The same thing happened to me with my wefts from remy hair today. The only things I can suggest is that you take the wefts out and seal them thoroughly so that when you comb and style your hair the hair will not pull  through the hair. You can do that with Aileen's Stop fray or I prefer the sealant from Hairextensions101.com

Thank you, thank you for this topic.

Now, my question is about closure pieces. I am 1 year post relaxer. After an illness and me really not taking the best care of my hair, my stylist recommended no more chemicals for me at all. Laying up on my sick bed caused a big bald spot in the back of my head and she has basically nursed my hair back to health via covering it up (weaves). I've always left a horse shoe out in the front, but since I'm not relaxing, my hair doesn't stay straight and I end up having to put a pressing comb through my hair every few days because of this weird California weather. Health is much better, now I'm working on getting the hair on the mend. The bald spot is no longer bald and I don't even need synthetic hair to braid over it anymore Clap

So... It's just about time for my next install. I've read about you ladies using closures and I think I may try it to cover up this spot in the front, but my question is this. $$$$$ is limited and some of the websites you guys have mentioned are WAYYYY out of my price range when it comes to closures. I'm thinking Indian Hair for my next install, but is there a less costly alternative for a closure than the $100 - $300 that I've seen for some of these pieces? Someone mentioned a Milky Way closure (by the way, I've never seen a closure piece in real life), but I don't know how well it would match. Between hair and the install, I'm already probably $450 in (my hair is costing more than my car note).

Thanks in advance!!!

FirstHug I am glad you are feeling better...

Okay so onto closures - A month ago I listed some BSS closures that was on the site for Golden Beauty Mart...I will find the link... those are all under $50 but if you want an Indian Remy Joya's Closures are affordable as well as My Mane Attractions ( I haven't used their closure though) But you might be able to find a closure in one of your local BSS...

Be back with the link

I am sure He meant every aspect of your life...or at elast that's how I look at it.

Not sure on blending cause all my closures are Indian Remy, but those are the cheaper ones so it might work but I would suggest going to your local BSS to see if they have any you can look at and compare with the hair you are going to use...

Also His & Her closures some people use and they are not that expensive...hth

Hi! I was going to order one before my last install ( in Dec) & I didn't because they said it would take about 3 weeks to arrive. If you check her site it says to keep prices low the closures won't be shipped for AT LEAST 2-3 weeks from confirmed payment.

Yes, I'm getting better everyday. As for His and Hers... I can drive to them and get a closure. Never used one, this will be my first time.

I thank all of you tremendously for spewing all your knowledge for the rest of us to learn also. Really, I haven't seen a nicer bunch of women online.

CamCamsMom ... I have the H&H FBW small double knotted closure installed with my WAGMAN'S Natural Curl. It blends well and is holding up very well. My only issue with it as well as all other mesh closures is that there is no "illusion" of scalp. IMO the lace closures need work to look really good. FIGBOO69 recently posted her process for making the part on a JOYA lace closure look like her scalp.

Im sorry if I didnt make myself clear. The hair was actually pulled through the top of the weft. I kept feeling the back of the tracks like why does it feel like that? Then I just gave up and had a friend look at it which confirmed my suspicions. The hair pulled through the top in little loop like formations.

But anyway, Thank You Very Much!Smile

Hey LA!

Okay I am trying to get a visual!LOL You mean through the TOP of the weft or the BACK??? I've seen hair through the top from time to time with hand tied wefts. Sometimes there is hair through the top from the way they wefted the hand-tied wefts. Is it in certain places or the ENTIRE weft? Hair in the back, of course are the beards.

No I believe understand what you are saying. If I can find my old hair from them ( busy unpacking) I will post a pic of my wefts. For the handtied wefts it does not seem as if the weft is that secure or tight. So when you are styling the hair or just brushing or coming the hair that is doubled over to make the weft it  comes out and you have little loops all over the place where the weft is no longer secure right?

What I was saying in order to stop the hair from moving out of the wefts is that I cut the loops of hair and then I sealed the weft all over really good to stop the hair from moving out of the wefts. Other wise you will continue to pull the hair out of the wefts if it is not stopped.
I believe that is the problem that you are talking about.

Question, I'm thinking of getting a quick weave (3/4 wig)
I know you're supposed to leave some of your own hair out at the top but I don't wanna wear my hair slicked back (my edges are thin) is it possible to create a part and still manage to cover the band?

lol! I believe that we are talking about the same occurance. I dont think it is very secure either but I cant afford to  make another purchase until at least the beginning of February... So... its okay with just cutting the top of the hair and sealing it? I would have never even thought of that! I swear i Am learning so much just from reading these forumn!
Thank you sweet Diva!

I know it is pretty hard to visualize! But I think since Sweet Diva had the same hair (vendor) as me were talking about the same thing. Basically after brushing the hair it started to pull through the top which im confused about because it would seem more logical for it to shed through the bottom. On some of the tracks fit doesnt even feel like a weft anymore....just a memory lol! (I wont be able to tell until I actually take out the weave).
Oh and before i forget-t only seems to happen on the middle of the head...so maybe thats where I brush the most?
But thank you Ameisha!

you will need to create a part deep enough so the end of the part covers the band...the edges should cover the band with no problem..it may mean that you need to position the cap further back...to get it to hold and be secure you may need to sew in some wig clips

I just recently moved to Redondo Beach, CA.  I am interested in getting a weave where none of my hair is left out. I've been searching this forum for the past few weeks and noticed that all you gals have very good looking hair, but no one mentions where they get their hair done.  Can anyone puhleeeezze refer me to a GOOD stylist not too far away who is highly skilled and enjoys their work?  Thanx a bunch!Smile

Yes LaPrettyone
The same exact thing happened to me and I had no money either to purchase new hair so I had to experiment with trying to make those wefts last. But  also make sure you seal the hair first and then cut the hair off because if it is not sealed first then when you cut the hair that is already  loose and it may unravel and you will have a Ermm face and that I learned the hard way.

its not bad for the hair if done properly and you maintain your natural hair (i've been wearing sew-ins back to back for the past 9 months and my hair is thick, healthy, and has grown tremedously)..but if you're doing back to back sew ins the same day as you get a full head relaxer, if your hair is weak and you're not treating the hair underneath, or if the braids/sewing are too tight then yes expect to get some damage

thanks so much for the info MzKoKoNY!

Yes this is Wagman Primus' hair and has the famous Wagman weft. This hair is only hair Extensions Plus gets from Wagman Primus.

Unfortunately, I don't think you are gonna find too many opinions/wearers of this hair line on this forum.. All of the Softwear textures are geared more towards caucasian hair textures.. I can't remember a soul here on this forum ever posting about wearing this hair.. So I'm not sure you are gonna get many responses here.. The HB and HE101 forum will probably net you more actual wearers of this hair line..

Last I heard Extensions Plus was selling out their remaining stock of this hair and discontinued carrying it.

Most fabric stores and some craft stores (Michaels) may have it. I always purchased my fray products from fabric stores.

Also, craft and sewing shops are a great place to buy needles from, although Sally's has one of the best curved needles I've seen.

I will normally do a criss cross or X type of pattern around both the braid and weft... I do this about 3 times at both ends.  I will also do an X at least one other time along the weft.  Its hard to explain w/just words... Maybe the "pic" below might help... the horizontal dashed lines are the braid/weft... the X's and | is the thread/stiches...

Hi ladies.. My questions are is there anyone who knows of a stylist in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia who can do a full sew-in with no hair out & who won't braid me bald? And if there isn't, how would I do a sew in that doesn't look wig-like with no hair out with full bangs all the way across??

His and Hers usually have closures on sale. 29- 40 I believe.

The key to not having your tracks show is to have the tracks close together...So as you lay them down keep them close, I have seen some installs where the tracks are like a pinky finger width (using my little pinky as an example or the width of a PENTEL RSVP pen???ConfusedLOL) apart but you actually might want to close that up some so that they lay closer to each other.  Hope that makes sense...if not feel free to pm me...

if you're using BSS non-remy hair ..the tangling and matting is inevitable because after awhile the silicone coating on the hair wears off..if you must do BSS hair..i would not use any product on the hair...or spend a little more and buy BSS remy (outre, sensationnel, etc.) but for a little more money why not invest in remy...there are a number of recommendations on the board..i know as a college student, shelling out $70 on a pack may seem a bit much but you save money in the long run because it can be reused and you can stretch out the life of your install because the hair will hold up

Here's my question: how do deal with a closure when it starts to move away from your hairline?   I'm wearing Haley's deep curl closure. Not more than a month has passed and most of my own hair can be seen Confused
is there a way for me to fix it without having to take all the hair out?

i am getting extensions in my hair for the first time. just a few in the back for length so im guessing its considered a half sew in? anyways, my hair dresser didnt give me much direction as far what length to get. my hair is kind of short. its at the tip of my shoulder. im just wondering is 14'' going to be too long? about how long is 14'' inches? im looking for something that is going to reach my chest, but at the same time i dont want it to look weird since my real hair only tuches the tip of my shoulder. sorry, im really inexperienced when it come to hair extensions.
i want my hair with the extensions in it to be this length:

Great thread,

Well here goes, I posed my question last week but never got any responses...

I'm interested in doing a full sew in with either EP silky relaxed texture or EP ZIG Zag natural Body.  I'm also going to order a closure from EP.  However I'm torn.  Can anybody tell me about the experiences with EP Natural Body?  As far as the Silky Related textures, can anyone advise if there is much of a difference from the regular relaxed texture? Any experience with EP closures? I've ordered the Royal hair from EP before and it was way too silky and I've received samples of the regular relaxed texture and it was too coarse.  So I'm trying to find the best hair texture fit by either ordering the Silky relaxed or the Natural body...

Has anyone ever ordered from perfectlocks.com? They are reasonably priced but I don't know if the quality is good. Also, is it better to buy raw indian hair or processed? http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=94792&KW=perfectlocks%2Ecom&PID=1467178#1467178" rel="no follow">View%20Post

i want my hair with the extensions in it to be this length:

Interlocking is basically a weave without the wefts.  Bulk weave hair is braided into your own hair.  I currently have that style (see avi) but I don't think I will have it done again since my hair is on the thin side the interlocking isn't holding too well, so out it goes!  hth

Hey Ma'am

I'd go with a longer length, in case you have to do any cutting, layering.

I hear a lot of people talking about pin curls. I thought I got the idea of how to do it but I may just be a little too slow.
Does anyone have pictures that show how to do them, like before, after and during?
I think the biggest thing that I need to see is how it looks while it is still pinned.
