I get GLycolic peels professionally done every 3 months.... If money is low, I get glycolic acid from a an online seller

http://www.wizozkansas.com" rel="no follow - www.wizozkansas.com

I have purchased from her many times... she sends directions on before & after care of the peel and ships quickly...

for person's of color, the lower strength is the recommended dose... if ya havent had oen before, Id try 30%.... ya can buy a dollar store makeup brush to apply with and the best neutralizer is simply a bakign soda & water paste...  put it on immediately after rinsing off the solution...let stay for 10 mins and rinse off..  follow but a non-oily heavy moisturizer...

Idk but I prefer glycolic cuz altho it burns it's still does't burn like tca. That stuff burns like hell and irritated my skin so much I washed it off immediately so I didn't see results. but I've gotten great results from glycolic. It burns but is milder for me and my skin glows. Thats my personal review. I prefer it from the dermatologists. I believe they have a better quality product.

Okay I got mines in the mail today
I had the 30% Glycolic acid peel
I left it on for about 10 mins....it burned a little. I had about 3 pimples and im tellin you it dried them things up! lol Overall my pores look smaller and my face a little brighter...My really dark scars were lightened slightly. The directions say to use this one a week for 6-8 weeks. I thnik after about two months my scars will be probably completely faded because I have performed this once and have already gotten good results. Btw i would definilty refer Makeupartistschoice products to any one. Their prices were the best I could find and they had my product here quickly within 2 days. I cant wait to see my results after 8 weeks....I will definitly have before and after pics by then.

It depends on how bad your scars and hyperpigmentation is. For me just one peel showed results, and i have extremely uneven skintone and lots of dark any spots. I just did mines yesterday. Immediately after the peel i noticed smaller looking pores and overall my skin looked refreshed. By this morning my scars looked even lighter. I think thats because of the dead skin shedding. But ofcourse to get long lasting and optimum results you should do one peel once a week for about 2 months.

I used to get glycolic acid peels with extraction done at the dermatologists' office. I loved it, my skin was clear, even toned
and the best thing about it is that it kept any small imperfections
at bay. Here's the deal though, if you ladies are doing this you
need to be sure to put sunblock on your face when you go out
throughout the week, doesn't matter if the sun isn't strong...if
you don't what will happen is you'll age all the new skin that you
have just exposed and exfoliated free by using the glycolic acid
peel.

I definitely want to try a glycolic peel soon, before summer gets here. Being that it is the mildest chemical peel. I researched the other peels and its uses/results. I've read that you can mix your glycolic acid with a facial wash or cream in lesser concentrations so that you can use it as part of your daily skin regimen. Has anyone done this before?

Im thinking about ordering the 40% Glycolic Peel....the 30% is working but I want it to work faster lol.

And to BaunitaApplebaum....I was using a 10% Glycolic Acid cream wash I got from my derm...but that was just wayyy to much for my skin and it became extremely dry, and I have really oily skin. I would say try it out but it may just be too much if your going the peels.

I am very pleased with the reduction of my ance scars... BUT I am still going to try the glycolic peel in a week or so.  I am afraid,  But I have a new skin regimen and my skin has been doing better, but I just want a fresh start and I hear that's what the Glycolic peel does, I know I have to take extra care of my skin.
I PROMISE to post pics of progress.

Sorry I should have been clearer, they are both combined together in the same bottle. I don't have any acne scars I'm just using it to make my skin smooth and it helps with my pores cause I have oily skin.

Goddess it ususally does burn the first time you get it done, the more you do it the less it will burn everytime. i also do peels but i dont go to a dermatologist for it. i bought mine at sephora its Ole Henricksen micro mini peel system even though it is $95 it does last me about 4 months and i use it once a week. it contains a Vitamin C peel that is great because as everyone should know any peels should have vitamin c in it because it is acidic and literally peels away layers of skin

I started my 30% glycolic peel on Monday. It peeled a little bit yesterday. Haven't noticed anything today yet. I only left it on for 2 minutes so we'll see what happens in a couple weeks.

I had a really bad allergic reaction to some Thai food (go figure) that left the area right below my lip extremely DARK. I need to get rid of this fast!

I am also testing the peel on an area on my neck, an acne scar on my shoulder and in a small section under my armpit. LOL

I did the first peel last night. It did have a burn/itchy sensation, but it wasn't n e thing I couldn't handle. I left it on for 5 minutes and rinsed for 6 minutes (the directions said 2 - 3 but I wanted to make sure I neutralized that bad boy). Rinse using cold water b/c warm water will just make the sensation worse. I guess it peeled a lil, I'm sure I won't see n e thing drastic til another 3wks or so. However it did leave my skin incredibly soft. I also applied the emu oil after. Will repeat this every Thursday night. HTH

I tried them at a dermatoliogist who did them on my face weekly for 3 weeks…he started with 30% then did 40% then did 50%

They worked out great. I didn’t have too much peeling and my marks faded. Its costly though so I can't do them often. Each peel is like $65

the lactic acid peel is really helping with my dark spots. i use the 40% from MUAC twice a week on sundays and thursdays. i am thinking about going up to the 55% now that my skin is getting used to the 40%. i have been using the 40% for a little less than a month. i cant wait until my skin is flawless or close to being flawless b/c i am sick of being a slave to makeupUnhappy

edited to correct percentages..

Girl that lactic acid peel is the ish, I'm on my 5th peel now, and I can't believe it but my stubborn humongous black spots are fading, I am so happy. I bought the sample of 40%, and you can do alot of peels, I will switch to the 55% when I finish the bottle.

I am sick and tired of wearing makeup too... Do u use the peel when u'rre breaking out? Because I have huge cystic acne and I noticed that when I do the peel the pimples are actually bigger.

when i first started using it i had a small breakout but i used it anyway and that area is more sensitive and it itches alot while doing the peel but it did not make them larger, actually it dried them up. but it wasnt cystic acne just little pimples...i just ordered the 55% sample and it should be here by the end of the week so i will let you know how that goes...

Thanks Zeta, I am not sure that it is the peel that is making them bigger actually the small pimples and the whiteheads get dry with the peel. I just have to exfoliate (Burt's Bee citrus scrub) to get rid of it.
I love MUAC, I pray for the day where I won't have to wear makeup.LOL

How did you all figure out which chemical peel was right for you?

i went to the makeup artists choice website and i was really looking to purchase a glycolic peel but the website stated that the lactic acid peels were less harsh and that they were better for hyperpigmentation. it also said that is was good to start with lactic acid if your skin was not used to chemical peels so thats the reason why i bought the lactic acid peel. one day i may purchase the glycolic after my skin gets used to peels and if i decide to continue doing peels.

I'm thinkin of doing my glycolic acid peels twice a week cause I haven't seen n e change at all. I only done it twice so far and tonight will be my third one (i've been doin it once a week), I just feel like it isn't enought. Everyone's gotten great results and I feel like i'm at a stand still... unless i'm exaggerating. I dunno sorry for ramblin, but my face has moderately broken out and i'm really stressin about it.

Hey ladies! I haven't done/gotten a peel in a while, but I use a glycolic product from time to time that I LOVE! It's called B. Kamins Glycolic. It comes in 6, 8 and 10%. You just dab it on after you cleanse your skin & allow it to dry. I only use it at night & be SURE to shake it up. I use the 8%.

HTH!

Is anyone using the Glycolic or Lactic Acid peels on the body? If so, what percentage are you using? I have these hideous dark spots on my legs I would like to get rid of.

I have 2, maybe 3 questions If anyone wouldn't mind answering.  Can you use the peel on only hyper pigmented parts of your face instead of your whole face? when do you start timing how long you have it on? As soon as you start applying or after you're done applying it to your whole face?  I fear leaving it on more than a minute the first time I try it because I don't want to end up with a horror story.  I would like to try the lactic acid instead of glycolic acid and would like to know if ya'll really think it's less harsh.

Thanks

How is everyone doing with the Peels?  I have heard so much about lactic, and glycolic Acid peels but  have been so scared to try them. For the most part my skincare regimen has been baking soda and water, moisturize and go. For those that have been doing this for a while what can you recommend for sensitive norma/oily skin?   I just wants something that will lighten what dark spots I have left and also keep my pores clear and skin tight. TIA

I tried the Lactic acid peel last night and that sh*t is Strong. It burned my face leaving a slight mark, this would clear up in a few days.

But the results were worth it because of the glow I got from using it but is definelty not a solution that can be used more than once a week.

o no mama lotion is malic acid sp? or something like that. i just assumed you had used the glycolic before (thats what i get for assuming lol) i started out with the 40% lactic and i just started using the 55% and yea i can tell a difference cuz the 55% is much stronger IMO but i only left it on for 2-3 minutes and rinsed it off.

Joley-i have left the 40% on for up to 7-8 min. after my skin got used to it.

Yogi- acne marks are fading and my skin i sooo soft and more even toned,  no burns it just itches like crazy when i apply the peel! i also use the 12% AHA Souffle so i thinks its a combo of the two...hth

Did you experience peeling with Lactic acid. Mama Lotion use to make me peel like a snake after 2 days of applying the solution. I am a regular Baking Soda exfoliator so maybe the peeling will be minimal I hope!Confused

you know Yogi i have used mama too and it NEVER made me peel and i thought that was odd b/c most ppl said that it made them peel alot and with the lactic the only time i peel is when i have a small pimple or something and after the peel it drys it out a little but thats about it as far as peeling goes but you know everyone's skin is different...

between 1-3 minutes the first time. the first time i used it i think i left it on for like 3 minutes. just make sure you rinse it off as soon as you cant bear the tingling, itching, burning sensation. no more than three min for the first time IMO

what kind of creams do u guys use on your face after the peel? i ask because i recently purchased the neutrogena active copper night cream and last night after i did my peel i applied the cream. (i read that copper is good to use after peels to help speed up the results) anyway when i woke up this morning my acne scars had faded alot more than when i just use a peel and a regular night cream. i think they sell copper peptide on the MUAC website but i just went to walmart and purchased the neutrogena cream. its like $17

Does anyone have any before and after pics? I am very interested in trying one of these peels but I am terrified to do it on my own with out seeing someone else's progress.

You really should apply something soothing like Aloe Vera gel just after doing the peel. I use Fair & White Exclusive lotion and gel creme mixed together the 2nd day after doing the peel.

Update on my peel. It has been 4 dyas now and my skin is glowing. The agitation I mentioned before has now disappeared. I guess this means that my skin is responding positively to the peel.
Anymore updates?
