Have you had a female hormone panel and thyroid labs? Ask your doctor to draw your hormone panel  labs on day 3-4 or 18-21 of your period.  Check your vitamin D and also do a cortisol/ASI/DHEA labwork too.  Chances are you have a Estrogren/Progesterone imbalance.   I would NOT suggest birth control pills (more hormones) as that aggrevates PCOS. You could also be testoserone dominant.  Start with labs and check out www.Jackkruse.com (forum and blog posts) on PCOS.  Also, check out the iodine reference

I suffer from fibroids which is different but also a hormonal issue.
Sugar/Gluten/Insulin resistance could also worthy of investigation.  Check out www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

I was dx with PCOS when I was 19 I am 30 now. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. i have never taken meds over than bc and the best for me was the patch. I am going to the doctor next week. I havent had my levels checked in a well and I have always been very quick to get pregnant which is the opposite of PCOS but I have cysts, the facial hair, high test, excessive sweat, medsection gain, etc.

Chiming in. I first was diagnosed with PCOS at age 18 (now 24), and the first year I gained 60lbs... I could never find anything to help me regulate my problems. I recently just started Metformin, but I am only taking 500mg daily currently and I am also taking Lo Loestrin Fe (bc). It has been about two weeks and I am still fatigued, but the Metformin side effects have worn off...

PCOS symptoms a lot of times coincide with hypothyroidism. Do you have weight loss issues, as well?
And have you had your TSH blood work tested along with your t3 and t4 counts?

Yes, sounds like adrenal fatigue.  Get your cortisol (saliva/24 hour collection) and your Free T3/T4 tested.  TSH is not as important.  Also, consider using amber lights after dark.  No artificial light.   Also, research "pregnenolone steal" which happens when morning cortisol is low.

Consider investigating BHRT (Biodentical Hormone Replacement Therapy).  It is compounded naturally from yams.  This will help balance your testosterone and estrogen.  PCOS is having dominant testosterone
