I received my pinking shears and was excited to see how they looked.. maaan.. i pulled those boys outta the bubble wrap and was like.. WTF?!?!? these shyts are HUGE.. lol..

I thought they were like these small scissors.. lol.. these doofy things..

anyway.. from what i understand  the purpose of using pinking shears is to cut the lace back with the scalloped edges to prevent fraying..

are there any other uses for the shears beside making pretty edges on scapbooking paper and to prevent fraying?

Seamstresses use pinking shears. If you sew you use them to cut the fabric so that the fabric doesn't fray.

also it provides a zig zag in the lace so it blends better than a straight blunt cut..

I have been looking for small pinking shears for 2 years. I just started using the pinking shears that I had for quilting.  Always thinking the were too big, I wouldn't use them to cut lace. But, I discovered they can be used and am now using them.  Just make sure you have the hair pinned back and place the edge just as you would with other scissors.  They make a really nice edge.

Wow you learn something every day. So do you ladies use the pinking shears around the whole perimeter of the LFW?

I love using pinking shears, my lace does not fray and it leave a nice zig zag line that lines up great the tape. Keep using them, I won't using any other scissors to cut my lace but pinking shears.

Mine are rather large also, a bit much if you  have little hands.

I have to remember to buy some next time I go out. Do anyone know if you can get them from any fabric store? Or do they have to be ordered?
