I hear ya. I noticed it in the thread, I just didn't comment. This lack of regard for black women's experiences is kinda hard to digest from black men. This shyt is expected from the white folks but when it comes from your own, it leads to a lot of gas.

She doesn't look racially ambiguous to me.. (even with the blond hair).
And nice Tea CC.. you always come through.

Are you one of those "color blind" people Oodles?
Not insinuating anything just asking.

in short, no..im not
not as a means to be naive, ignore, distort, and exploit.
as it relates to our history..our complicated history with white people..

my views on the creative process are pretty objective though.
imo that process is in another realm thats abstruse.
(I only expect creatives to understands)

lastly.. i tend to have an open handed approach to (most) things.
I'm not the venom spewing type.

By stating that you're not the 'venom spewing type', you're implying that everyone that has noticed this image he chose is not being objective and simply being 'bitter', though. So you are 'objective' on the creative process but people who notice lack of diversity are not? Again, it sounds dismissive.

it's not hard to see where someone's coming from when they use their creative control and freedoms to exclude a group that's always excluded.  how can you ever be a black man looking to make a statement on the beauty of women and not want to make a statement on the beauty of black skin.  it's bizarre as hell to me.  just like someone said earlier, if the album was about some bullsh*t, black women would be on the cover...look at R Kelly's album cover for an example of that.

all this shows is that Pharell has always had this colour issue, except when he's called out on it, nothing more. Ain't got shyt to do with the 'creative process'.

LOL, the escape and deflection replies are real out here. You are implying and not with much subtlety at that, it ain't even as vague as you think. It's not that hard to speak plainly.
