I was wondering is it possible to perm your edges while you have a sew in? I just recently got my sew in, but because of the heat and me sweating my edges look like I never got a perm. Can I perm my edges without taking my sew in out????? Please Help!Cry

I have permed my edges without taking out my sew in. Just separate your leaveout hair from the weave and put the weave into a tight bun so you dont get any perm on the weave.  Relax your new growth like normal. Smooth the perm away from the direction of the weave. Wash out, neutalize, condition your hair as you normally would. HTH.

My hairdresser used to put neutrilizing shampoo on the braids that are right near where your edges are...just in case some relaxer gets on them.

I also perm my edges (but since the rest of my hair is now natural thinking about trying out a BKT in the future)...I buy one of those jar perms so I dont wast a whole perm, I believe its olive oil something and even though Im african so I have super thick hair I just by the regular kind leave it on smooth it AWAY from that expensive hair! LOL...and I shampoo it really good and leave on some conditioner for an hour or so than wash again.  Pay alot of attention to your edges if you are perming...cuz we get so wrapped up in our weaves we forget there is hair under there!

You can perm your hair while you have a sewn-in, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's possible, but the relaxer may get on the rest of your hair. If you wrap your edges, you shouldn't need to perm it - what do you do to your hair normally? When did you have your last perm?
