I remember when lisa ling went to pedophile island one of the guys said he wanted to participate in the studies because maybe it would help men like him and prevent them from ever hurting any kids.

And I think that in some ways we need to remove the stigma related to having the attraction (not remove the stigma related to the act) because we may save a lot of children from being abused. Some medical interventions work and people should have access to them. But you can't access something you don't know about or will be prosecuted for even asking about.

Don't get soft on pedos. Feel sympathy for the child, not that genetic mistake

There are so many ways that a finding like this can cause things to go right (think of all the children we could save) and cause things to go wrong (forced medical interventions at birth before an act of pedophilia is even committed).

Either way, we've got to discuss it as a society.
