she's dark...i can see how Ilyana calls herself carmel....her undertones are kinda redish light..anyay

it's so funny bc my .friend just came back from Kenya and before she went our other friend told her they practice a sort of colorism and she said she noticed it on advertisements.  she said most Kenyans are very dark--they visited Nairobi but stayed mainly in the villages--but advertisement feature brown skinned women or women who would be considered dark in America, like maybe Tika.  but bc that's still much lighter than  many Kenyans that's who they had in their ads. like brown skinned/dark skinned women being considered exotic.

it was such an interesting conversation to me.
