Would I be able to maintain this hairstyle as a natural sister?

m stressed in life right now and its showing in my hair. I've cut my hair 3 times in the last year on a quest for even growth only for it to grow back grossly uneven
Im talking 1-1.5 inches at the sides and back and 3-4 inches up top. Like a high top fade but naturally growing. Looking like
I usually do wash n goes but its cold and I wanna try something different. Make lemonade outta lemons... So Im gonna attempt this Halle/Rih pixie pictured above.
Im hair type 3c, fine strands. normal porosity I guess. My hair is thin but has the appearance of abundance cuz of the fluff.
ERMM what else? When dry my hair is soft and fluffy. When wet or moisturized I have tiny ringlet wave combo. Looks just like this guys
Do you guys think I could maintain this style myself without chemicals?
Could just a blow dry and curl do this?
