This is so weird! I’ve been thinking of using Okra - in my DCs and with my Rhassoul Clay, until I can order my marshmallow root… I thought I was just crazy  LOL, I never imagined anyone else would’ve thought of it.

I was just gonna use it for the slip though, as want to see if I can reduce or cut out cones. Is it supposed to grow your hair too?

Also, your hair looks amazing in these pictures – what’s your hair type? And can you get that kind straightness or shine without blowdrying or straightening irons?

Sachinishere, you're welcome!

Loves2Laugh, I had to lookup Rhassoul Clay.  It looks awesome.  Is that similar to Bentonite Clay?  The PJ in me is longing to get out...lol!  We are not crazy, shhhh....LOL.  You will get alot of slip with Okra.  And, yes, it grows your hair too.  My hair type is 4A, natural.  You can get the shine without the use of a blowdryer, flatiron or curling iron.  I let my hair air dry.  I only use a flatiron to show true length for updates, but would like to get away from it all together.  I didn't think about putting the okra in a DC.  I just may give that a try with a touch of honey or ACV.  Thanks for the tip!

Benni, thanks for lurking.  I hope you come on in here lady!  We are in the MN + Sulfur super challenge together.  You are still in the challenge right?

Here is an update photo from August 30-December 15, 2013.  When I began the Okra challenge, my hair was swinging to the middle of my neck.  I was geeked then.  And now, it is clearly hanging down my back.  Woohoo!  I would never have made it to this length this fast if it weren't for the lovely ladies on hair boards who shared their knowledge and good advice for taking proper care of my hair.  I am still learning and growing inch by inch daily.  So, thank you to everyone out there who helped me on my journey.

I will post an update photo in my "Love" shirt in January for the start of 2014.

aGoddess, again your hair is amazing. I had about 3 fingers of Okra at home last week and I tried to make some to add to my Rhassoul, but I burnt it! Will try again next time.

Re the clays, whilst they both detoxify, Rhassoul is more of cleansing and conditioning clay, whilst Bentonite is cleansing only. Depending on what you read, Rhassoul has higher or the highest mineral content than other clays.

However, although it’s conditioning and great for sensitive skins and scalps, I still add EVOO to Rhassoul as my hair is v dry. Plus I read on LHCF that it made some of the posters hair dry and they all seemed to be white, so if makes their hair dry, I assume it'll make mine dry too. So I won’t use it alone and am also planning to add other stuff as well as okra to it

@ aGoddess. I will try anything natural . I will definitely give it a go. No more Sulfa/MN for me. May try Njoy's Sulfa mix later though.

Good Luck

@ aGoddess. I will try this, but I cannot officially join because I don't post pics.
Question: How long can this mixture be kept in the refrigerator before it loses it's effectiveness ??

TIA

ps CONGRATULATIONS !!! Your looks fantastic
