after seeing the movie, i can certainly see why it would be emotional to him.
the whole movie chronicled the life of the butler who was in the white house during the terms of several white presidents. he was in the room when they were discussing race topics (among other important topics), and even discussed the freedom fighters..which is son was a freedom fighter.
then you have the very end, when he went from serving the white presidents, to going to meet president barack obama.
i think the way that lee daniels put the movie together was brilliant. the way he split the scenes to show the significance of what the butler did and how blacks were treated/viewed to his son fighting for civil rights.
the acting was great as well. and LOL at him mentioning cuba's lines were his favorite. cuba made the most raunchy, sexual jokes.
