Topic: Ny Malibu mane need new stylist help Posted: Feb 27 2013 at 7:26pm |

Any one ever get ther hair done at Malibu manes in Brooklyn. I need to get my hair done and I need something good or a good stylist. I am so tired of looking for a good stylist in New York. Please please I need help. I have tried almost every stylist and this is just crazy. They either charge an arm and leg or they just plain suck. I am just disgusted that I can't have a great looking weave at a good price like I used to. Poochie(God rest her soul) used to do my hair. Since she passed I have just been stuck with bad stylist after another. Anyone please help me. 😞😞😞😞😞

You ever thought about self installing? That why you can get your hair looking the way you want it to look.

I haven't heard any buzz on anyone in the area. All those stylist and not one works...I know how you feel I went through that a few years ago. I started self installing, took me a minute to get it but I got it. That may not be an option for you right now but I started out going to get my base braided and sewing myself then worked my way up to braiding myself.
If you go get your hair braided already have your leave out twisted up.
Good luck though.

@Kurls2kinks I went through the same thing last year. I started having someone braid my hair I did the sew-in. Then the braider started getting flaky so I had to learn how braid my own hair. Mind you....before this summer I had never braided my own hair....ever....I didn't even know how to do cornrows on anyone's head. Necessity is the mother of invention!!
Go do some research, watch some YouTube videos and get to installing yourself. I love doing my own installs now...it saves me (and my husband) a lot of money. Plus I can just re-do my hair whenever I want.

Malibu's my current stylist and I introduced my Hg to using her also. She's not bad at all. My hair leaves there looking nice. She Gets the closure right (my most important part), the base braids are small and tight and my hair never looks bulky. Plus shes reasonably priced. My Hg likes her also. I'm thinking about trying kalief next. He's another ny stylist whose installs look great. Another ny stylist is "hairbybobby". His work looks great but since he blew up overnight it's toooo hard to get an appt w him. Allegedly he's booked until June. -_-

Thanks i think i will try Malibu for now. I am just desprate, after getting my hair done by a recent stylist am taking it out after a week. Just fustrating. I went from having flawless installs to just disgusting bumpy installs. I contacted her and the pricey are resonable. If it doesnt work out i will be trying someone else.
I also contacted Hairbybobby since november twice and have never gotten a reply. What a shame.
