Imagine your hair is in cornrows.  There is a small section of hair  as it leaves your scalp and enters the braid.  Jada's braids are not the size and her hair is in an "underbraid" but this is to demonstrate with the red arrow the place where the Lacing is done. that little flat section of hair of about 1/4" of hair before it's in the braid.

You push the latch hook under that just far enough to get under maybe 10 strands of your own hair.

You take some of the loose hair cut from the leftover wefts, fold it in half so you have a little loop of hair at the top to hook onto the latch hook.

I knew it was going to be either very simple or very complicated. Lol.

Okayyyy we gotta pump the brakes.

The only part I cant figure out is where is the knot tied? Usually when you do crochets you can see where the knot is ties on the top of the braid. Where does she ties the knots on the straight hair? It will be too obvious to tie the knot on the top for straight hair. You can get away with it using curly hair. I'm gonna try this on a dummy head using my hook needle for ventilating. Whew good thing I didn't throw it away.

I still think a sliver of hair is left out regardless of the technique. LOL I zoomed in on some of those pics and I think at 5:59 of the missbossy vid you can see the hair overlapping the wefts, back of upart weft is exposed. Imma have to look at it on a bigger screen later.

I was hoping it was something new though. Cry

I don't think any hair is left out. For those who have really think hair the roots will meet the crochet knots. Oh sorry the lacing knots which will make it blend together.

you have to literally take like 20 strands of hair at a time and "lace/crochet" them close to each other.

This sounds like something I got done before. When I get my computer out of the shop, I'll post a pic. The stylist said she used "French knots" to secure the wefts and it felt like she was sewing it on strands of my hair.

Girl not even that many strands. There are different ways of doing them, some don't even use hooks.

Yeah, they have many names. French, Brazilian and Italian knots, string or thread fusion, undetectable strands, microchet etc but they're all strand by strand methods if that's what she used.
