Ladies I'm looking at the link mahogany sent and it looks to me like tiny crochet. The other link OP sent the pics were a little far away. Perhaps this can be very very tiny crochets?

Yep red, I think some of her pics are lacing method, others surely appear to be closures, the makeup part is a dead giveaway.

Dreams what do you mean by lacing method? Like a lace closure. I was wondering why the part looked so perfect and makeup added if you have your own scalp in the part.

| No, it is not a closure and none of your hair is out. Its not a very popular thing in all areas, but it looks great. I think its best on wavy or curly hair though.. The hair is manipulated throughout your braids at the very base.

I agree, however, Tammy does it well where it looks good with straight hair as well imo. Sugab - think crocheting (that's what I call it but they call it lacing) and your perimeter braids would be small - so the hair is cut off the weft and placed accordingly...let me see if I have a picture I saved awhile ago from her...I came across her page from a friend of a friend who went to her but I never got into doing the technique but it looks good finished.
ETA: Here is the picture. This is from a few years ago but I am sure the technique is still the same - minus a few tweaks. We all like to tweak a process we have to make it better...
