Actually, that explanation makes no sense what so ever, sorry to say. TBH, North Korea doesn't give a shyt about Israel. The only reason why they care is because Israel is an ally of the US and Japan (kinda-sorta). They don't support Syria or Iran because they really don't have the money to do so. North Korea is a dirt poor country and they have resented "democratic" nations for splitting up Korea since the war. They are NOT an "empire" by any stretch of the word.
Now, do they SELL ARMS to Syria and Iran? Sure. That's how they generate revenue for their country. They also export drugs. They receive LOTS of aid from China because their economy simply can't sustain the population...not with all the sanctions against them.
Every year, North Korea sends rockets shooting over Japan. Every year, Japan tells them to stop with the tests.
Will North Korea ever send a nuke over to the US? Or Japan, for that matter? It's not likely that they would do that. They are just barking dogs and they know that starting a war instead of working on diplomacy would just be the wrong thing to do. Why do you think they gave up those two American journalists a few years back? They knew that starting anything major would not be in their best interests.
ETA: I also meant to say that North Korea, at the end of the day, would much rather be reunited with South Korea (ideally with a communist government). South Korea is willing to have better diplomatic relations, but many South Koreans say there is no way in hell they would ever reunite with the North because they would have to foot the bill for all of the infrastructure and reform they would have to pay to bring the North out of poverty.
