Nicki Minaj blames Wal-Mart for low record salesReloaded - The Re-Up was released on November 19, and she already predicts that sales will not go so well with this one. Wal-Mart is to blame, among the other large retailers Target and Best Buy. It would not be a surprise to Nicki if she did not do as well with this album because it is not available through the larger retail stores to her fans. “It’s hard to get the album because the stores basically said that the last few re-releases they had put out did not do well and they didn’t want to take a chance. So Target and Wal-Mart [are] not selling the album," she said. "And Target is actually my biggest retailer. They’ve sold the most Nicki Minaj albums ever. Thank you, Target, but I wish you could have sold this one.” Her album has not made it to these stores, which is critical for album sales. “And then Best Buy only took limited [quantities] because they’re like ‘Oh, we don’t know, we want to play it safe.’ So … it kind of sets you up to fail,” Nicki insists. How can the artist sell her albums if stores are not even providing the option for its customers? In response to Nicki’s assertion, Wal-Mart says, “We do not carry any music that has a parental advisory label on it. However, we carry edited versions of those music titles. That album did not come with an edited option, so that’s why Wal-Mart isn’t carrying that album.”

So basically it's everyone's fault but her's for why her album is crashing & burning. Have several seats Nicki...

that walmart stuff is BS. If her fans really wanted the album they would've found a way....she only sold 939 copies in the UK...Is walmart to blame for that too?

Her fans ain't got the innanet? iTunes? Amazon?
Her album ain't selling because it's garbage, not because of any store.

I'm almost insulted that she thought listeners needed Rosenberg to state the obvious to see the light.

Walmart has had the same policy since forever. Nicki needs to stop. I remember when I accidentally bought a clean Kanye album from there...but I preferred it clean anyway

Actually I find her complaints really bogus. For the record, I submit content to the same outlets for many of my clients. And I know for a fact that her music is up on Windows Media Entertainment Guide - which has a very strict stance against explicit content. So, her camp HAD to submit a clean version to Microsoft.
So basically, it's her own damn fault that she's not making sales. If a platform requires clean content, and you refuse to make a full clean physical CD version bc you're being too cheap but you don't mind making clean virtual digital versions, who's fault is that?!

How long does she expect an obvious gimick to last? She basically admitted that yes, she is selling out for some quick money. Well easy come, easy go Nicki. It is a very fine line for a black female artist in the industry to get crossover support for a long time. I peeped Rihanna's card. She has a high turn over rate on purpose. Beyonce too, with the exception of motherhood. They usually ALWAYS have music out at any given moment, they always have a video, they switch up the sounds and the vibe of the songs so you're not used to them. Rihanna stays (famous and relevant as fawk) by always reinventing herself and appearing to be desirable. Weather it be her unattainable lifestyle, toxin ass personal relationship, or 'freedom' of fashion sense. Young and carefree. It keeps people guessing. It makes people see her as fresh and new. No one else is doing that right now so people look to her all the time. On top of that she delivers fast, catchy, and pretty pointless music with no real essence. Perfect for this young misguided generation.
Nicki on the other hand, there's only so far you could go after you blow up your ass, and wear a bright wig 24/7 then release music dripping with shade from remnants of an old beef, and you singing your own chorus. Every.single.song
Rihanna's music sucks to me now but that's because i'm looking for good music. She is like a factory. Her people work her hard. It's a business and nothing but. It makes that money. If nicki wants to make money only, (which she seems like she does) then she should at least get business-minded.
Yawn
I'll just stick with my Lupe.
