Hello everyone Smile!  I am new to this natural hair journey. I have had a relaxer for about 23 years and I always said natural wasn't for me. After seeing the breakage my relaxer was giving me (and the stress I was putting my hair through), I realized it was time for a change! I don't know where to start now what to do Cry. I still have quite a bit of processed hair and my hair if very short in the back with tons of breakage and about chin length in the front! I am currently taking the ever popular hairfinity vitamins and I wash and condition my hair weekly!  I moisturize with Aragan oil after the shampoo, just before the blow-dry (which I don't do every wash, maybe once a month); but I do keep my scalp moisturized with a coconut oil/olive oil grow therapy mixture. Big smile

Any and all tips are truly appreciated!

Hi @bearutyDiva78 I'm in a similar boat. I had a perm for 20something yrs and I decided to stop perming my hair about a year ago. my hair in the back started breaking off. Not sure what to do I decided to buy that au natural shampoo and conditioner. That was the first time I realized I have a curl pattern. I'm not sure but I could be a 4b or c. Since my hair was so uneven I decided to just chop of the remaining perm. So far its been the best hair decision I've made in a long time. At first I was doing Bantu Knott's but since this is so new I started watching YouTube clips on how to define curls. Since than I've been just wetting my hair throwing a little conditioner in it and going. I have a not short but not long afro and my curls are cute.. And its a true afro..Lol I just purchased hairfinity have you started it yet?

Shyhoneyluv,

Yes I have started...twice actually!  LOL..the first time I had tons of shedding an didn't drink enough water. I did notice thickness (which I didn't need, I already have thick, coarse hair) so I stopped after a month and a half.  I took the pills while I was in the middle of a sew-in, which more than likely helped contribute to my shedding.

I started taking the pills again on yesterday! I am very excited about it and this time I won't stop taking them.  I did, however; hear about It Works dietary supplement and heard it has twice the amount of Biotin that Hairfinity does so I don't know about that!  I think I will stick to what I know.

I am very afraid of the BIG CHOP! I probably need to do it though to start over...if I do, then I will have a true TWA...not even...maybe a boyish faded bob!  LOL
