Ive had single braids in for about 3 weeks now.  And I can pull on a good amount of braids and it will stretch out.  Meaning, when I first got my braids put in they were tight to my scalp, now theres distance between my the base of my scalp and where the synethic hair was added.

Is this New Growth thats causing this "stretch" or are my braids just getting loose?  I have natural hair so its not like my hair is permed and more prone to slip down the added hair.

i agree it could be a bit of both. can you braid cos if you really want to check try taking down a couple and check your progress that way? Then just re-braid. Just an idea

From my perspective it could be loose braids. I had my hair braided about three weeks ago & one week into having them done I noticed braids pulling away from my scalp. Last week I had to redo a few of them in the front & back. My braider put them in really snug but not where I was in pain. I know my hair & there was no way my hair grows that fast. But all this to say each head is different. You did mention you washed so that could also be a factor in why your braids are looser than when you first put them in.

Maybe a little of both. I think if you natural hair is curly or wavy, that also makes it more prone to slippage as well.
