Now as of maybe 2 weeks now I've been appling E/S.  I just jumped right in applyin what I've learned form school. friends and here.  But I started out with the shimmery stuff.  I want to tone it down for work.  But I'm having a hard time learning how to apply  neutral / warm colors.

I'm really lost.  Basically what I did this morning was apply a tan/beige color, then a gold color then a shimmery gold.  The red you see is from me using the one good brush I have.  Which I think helped with the overall lookEmbarrassed.

If anyonw have some persaonal suggestions they care to share, I'll greatly appreciate it.

You should search for YouTube tutorials for neutral eyes and everyday looks.

If you like mac try naked lunch or rice paper for a highlight to the brows.
I love twinks, coppering, sable and everything that glitters. They are neutral colors in my book anyway.
And also try carbon for a dramatic effect for the outer v, or you can add just a little of the carbon and it will bring a little depth to your look.
Also i am a beginner and i have learned alot of things on here as well as you really need to go to specktra.net
There are some good recommendations for shadows there and they also do a picture tutorial that will show you how to apply the shadow.

And your look is nice you might want to add a highlight under your brow instead of bringing the crease color up so high.

I hoped that helped a little because like i said i am also a newbie.

Oh and add a little liner at your water line. That also brings out the makeup.

You should get the neutral pallette from Coastal Scents or ebay and play with it.   The colors show well of brown skin and don't have any shimmer.
