according to my quick google search, his charity, called "Jes Us 4 Jackie" was directly responsible for helping to save the lives of 9 people, so i applaud him for the fight!
that said, i have a problem with this quote from him, "I doubt it if half of those girls are still campaigning for what they quote, unquote took advantage for that opportunity for.”
this translates (to me) that nelly contributes to pigeonholing the voices and diversity of black women. almost as if he's saying "these women are probably hoes anyway so their protest was just for show."
which was precisely the stereotype the women of spelman were trying to dispel by protesting in the first place.
either way, like others have mentioned, neither side was willing to listen and compromise. so in the end , nothing good came out of this and we're back at square one.
