Hey BHM Fam,
TTT gets more traffic... I wrote a 250 word scholarship essay for a scholarship that is being sponsored by my school. Could anyone give me some pointers, critiques, or help? I just need someone to critique it. Please PM me.

i used to find some inspiring quote and then write around that...schools were always suckers for that
but we do need more info

This is what they said: Typed 250 statement about
yourself. Include any information you feel will help the Committee make a decision concerning your qualifications as a scholarship

I've written an essay, but don't want to post it up on here (that's why I said PM me). They also posted this: As always, the first thing to consider is the audience. The committee meets as a
group to discuss candidates, and these essays
are scrutinized.

have you struggled?
overcame some obstacle?
are you the first generation of your family to be born in the US?
why do you deserve the scholarship?
what do you plan to do w/ yourself after receiving your education?
how will you influence others?
these are things that helped me snag scholarships when I was a young buck.

Write about your struggles or the struggles of those closest to you and try to make a connection between them and yourself. How have you grown into the individual that you are today based on hardships or the hardships of others. Personal reflection, blah, blah, blah...
