My regimen:
Pre Poo, Wash, DC, and Air Dry once a week
Moisturize 2 times a day
No direct heat (I've used a flat iron twice in 8 months)
Deep Condition under a hood dryer
Protective Style 99% of the time
Avoid harsh ingredients (beeswax, petroleum, mineral oil, SLS, ALS)
Wear a satin bonnet to bed
I always try new products but I stick to the above steps

A brilliant transformation! If you don't use direct heat, how do you keep it looking so sleek and straight like that?

it took me three months. It was my first year and college and my hair was severely underprocessed, so I would wash my hair and condition everyday and airdry it. about 80% of the time my hair was in a bun

Let me clarify- I use a flat iron about twice a year. The first photo is a roller set and the second is flat ironed. I will probably flat iron again in September or January 09. I'm transitioning to natural hair and haven't had a relaxer in a year- this may have set me back from reaching my goals sooner because of breakage but I enjoy the process back to natural.

Thanks for the inspiration. With me stretching my relaxer so long, my hair does not look nice without heat styling. That's why I asked about flat ironing. How often do you relax?

Back then I was relaxing every 6-8 weeks.  Now every 3-4 months.

Do you think i can get away with flat ironing once a week?

Yes, just make sure to deep condition weekly and use a good heat protectant.
